Grant the sale I was referring to is named Autosport 2018 and the first list starts with a '66 Stang. I think its the good one and if I'm right would you please post the link?
Recreation, evocation, perfect copy, clone whatever you call them another category makes money they are ex road going cars then adapted to race ten, twenty or more years ago. Semi authentic or just really fun to drive? |

That evocation. Elsewhere it would be called a kit car.

Evocation could be a partial Replica. And a Replica should match the genuine car in every respect. Trouble comes with some genuine cars refurbished by specialists then they could be called "as new" but slightly adapted… Bearing in mind that some "parts" are impossible to reproduce like the special Capri light body shells made by Ford back in the day. Anyway, everywhere big money can be made they will find out the right way and right name. We call them Specialists… |

Also not accurate unless someone is trying to pass them off as originals.

The sals catalogue still exists. Oddly it opened the catalogue for the Autosport 2018 auction when I clicked on a link for the "next auction" which claimed to be an event in February. I think the Coys web site may need a little fettling. http://www.coys.co.uk/autosport-2018 It seems that is still the case. The Mustang entry is extremely light on information specific to the car being offered. It seems to be something for the "London Motor Museum". Googling that produces a set of interesting images. |

Thanks for that Grant! Have a look to the 635 description and the F40 too, seem to be road going cars later converted. I love reading auction catalogues, some do know how to write several pages of belonies and other garbage about a semi wreck. I have some names but please dont ask…
Does anyone knows for sure if PA has been recently sold to the ACO (partly)? Or another hoax and silly rumor… |

The 635 is actually a very well put together car. It is described as what it is, a replica. Built using works parts or copies where the parts are no longer available. It has an HTP which, although not a guarantee, does signify that the builder is genuine.

If there are any Daily Telegraph readers on here could I crave a favour re today's (19th) paper please. Apparently there is an article - or on the letter's page I'm told (?) - about the best colour for not showing dirt on a car??? I understand the paper used one of my agency stock photos (quite legit) but we sometimes need proof of publication if the papers don't pay up - which takes months!!!
So a scan of said article / photo would be appreciated if anyone has one to hand please? I've only just found out and can't get out to buy a copy this evening. Thanks! Photo is apparently: |

Sorry Gary, don't read any nationals. What about online? (No idea if you get full paper in digi version.)
Another request for help- Anyone got the secret code to get a free ticket for HMI? I received 3 identical emails offering said freebie from a well known organiser yesterday and a link to the booking site, which of course needs a 'discount code'. But no code in the emails. And no, it's not a scam email....... If anyone has got the code, please pm. Mind you, I expect there will be more offers as the date gets closer! |

Thanks Mike.
Currently down at Bruntingthorpe for the VSCC Measham Rally - scrutineering bay is one of the more interesting venues. |

The last car has just set off. First one was at 10pm and they were scrapping the frost off then. I must be mad. They’re madder!

I saw a TV ad for ‘Build your own Routemaster’, which is one of those weekly subscription things where you get a few parts sent each week. The model is an impressive 1/12 scale, but at £8.99 per week (first issue £1.99) how much is the total cost likely to be? Surprisingly, the website makes no mention......

We had a long-running part-work here to build a model Citroen garage. It was very nice but went on forever. Somebody did actually list a completed one that he had built-up, on eBay. The asking price was somewhere over 800 euros, which he pointed out was the sum total of the parts, no labour charges! You can buy very nice hand-made model garages for an awful lot less than that. |
