some excellent shots Jon, I'll be in touch via your site.

I'm finally getting the Van Diemen F3 up to speed, a combination of getting closer to the correct handling, which in turn is giving me the confidence to push it harder. I'm hoping the the tweeks I've got for Oulton will get it close to it's sweet spot which will leave the rest down to me.

As for the Macon, it's now looking the part having been returned to 1970, Syd Fox livery, as supported by D.J.Bond Racing. It would be good to see more of the Fords returned to original livery as I think it certainly adds to the overall spectical.

I thought that it was an excellent weekends racing, good selection of cars, and another example of how to organise an Historic race meeting by the HSCC.

I saw the Macon, and thought it looked great. Have you been in touch with Syd Fox? He still retains an interest. PM me if you want contact details.

The delays were unfortunate but the first incident in the Orwell Supersports race was pretty serious. The driver requiring a stretcher I was told. The second incident occurred right in front of me on the approach to Druids - the driver hopped straight out but the car was a mess and stuck right in the middle of the track.
You must have been near to me it was very unfortunante incident as the poor bloke was trying to stay out the way, the workmen with the chainsaw etc were quite entertaining afterwards.
I was gutted about the BRM however i'm sure the chassis plate is still ok

Shortly after stepping out of the car he turned to the peanut gallery and asked if anyone saw who tapped him - someone said 'a yellow car' but when the field came back round I could see no rubs on any of the cars.

From where I was standing (at the bottom of Paddock Hill) it looked as if it was Silvio Kalb who gave him a hefty tap.

I looked as well to see if there was any "evidence" on any of the other cars but couldn't spot any, it was a Group 6 car but it happend so fast I couldn't make out which one being behind the incident.

Read on the Orwell supersport website that he has "a broken collar bone and severe bruising" which considering the damage to the car and the severity of the impact is relatively good news.

I too looked, and couldnt see anything "suspicious"...i was hoping no one would make contact with him, but as they went three abrest contact seemed likely. Very unlucky for the driver though.

Orwell restart

There was some damage to the rear of Silvio Kalb's March as the field pulled into the pits after the race was cancelled, unfortunately I did not get a photo of it.

I had waited ten years to see the BRM, greatly saddened to see the damage to this unique car but thankful that Yvan was not more seriously hurt. It was a big shunt.
