Forums like this are great for sharing information but one must be careful not to end up "slanging" each other. I don't think we have and don't think either of us intends to. But when you say you "presented the historical truth in an accurate manner" I do rather think that is exaggerating a little.

The two comments you quoted are recollections from long ago by individuals who did not do well. Others can make their own judgements on whether they should be used to characterize that particular car model in general.

You are correct that Gloy and Melville did not run the full season in their T460s. But then neither did Villeneuve or Klausler in their cars. Gloy and Melville, for whatever reason, did not do well in the few races they did run. That would inevitably color their later recollections.

However we have both expressed our views and the sum total of knowledge and opinion about the past has been expanded.

To end - my mother had a cookie tin with "sayings" on the four sides.
One was - "Be to her faults a little blind, Be to her virtues very kind"
Another was - "Littlest said is soonest mended".

villeneuve ran no other chassis than the 76b.

i was at every race in my capacity as the reporter/photographer for autoweek.

gilles did not run the full all the races in '76...he did not run mid-ohio and the second round at laguna seca. all the races he ran were in a 76b.

same for klauser. he did not run all the races in '76. and unless i missed something, all the races he ran were in his t460.

Marc, Weather a car was good or bad in period was in most cases a question of development, there are many cars racing today in historic racing that are far better than period because of development and I feel the T460 falls into that category, I own a T460 and the original T560, the T560 was the development of the T460. Both are well engineered cars (I owe my life to that) I also own a T360, whilst the T360 won championships it was not engineered any where near the standard of the T460 & T560 (these cars share the same tub as the T430 F5000) Having personally built all three of my Lola's I find your Pictures useful in building the cars back to as close as original as possible but care little for comments rather than preserving these cars for posterity.

If this thread is still open, my cousin ended up with T460 HU8 (the one delivered to Japan?). I hadn't seen it until yesterday, but the way the story goes a customer/associate of his ended up with the car in the mid-'80s, and he took it off his hands last year. We're located in/around the Bay Area.

He's quite enthusiastic about getting it back together and running, though he's not a driver at all. His main focus is in the vintage Porsche sports racer world (910/907/some 908 and 917 parts fabricated for others).

Hopefully I'll get to get out with it, and can pony trot it around a few laps.

Hi All,

Sorry to resurrect this particular thread but I figure this is the best place. My name is Jason, I live near St. Louis, I'm in possession of t460 hu7, and I'm hoping to get the car running again with a Ford kent x-flow. I also have t360 hu12, both cars were purchased by my dad in the early 90s, he unfortunately passed away last year. Both are currently in pieces.

I don't know much about the history of these two cars and I'm hoping that some current or past owners are still kicking around in this thread, especially Colin and Derek.

Also I'd like to thank Marc for uploading all those great pictures. I'm fairly certain that the picture he took of Tom Klausler's #63 t360 at Brainerd '75 is my car!

One last note, the t460 lived a rough life and the tub was totally rebuilt by my dad in the 90s, but the bodywork it wears is an early t460 nose and a t360 engine cover. I'm wondering if anyone has a lead on the later nose with the splitter, a correct t460 engine deck, or maybe even molds?
