out of interest are Motors TV repeating their stirling work and televising it? Saturday last year was a perfect compromise - watch the races that interested me and spend the balance of the time in the garden!

Ferraris and Astons of that periods were all beautiful; no-one has mentioned the Lusso. However, my choice would be the 'big' GTO, otherwise known as the 330LMB; great looking car, only 4 built and, I believe, not as valuable as the GTO, despite being a lot rarer. However, now that Mr Hardman has finally conquered (with Bobby Verdon-Roe) Goodwood in one, I guess that might add value!

No mention of the Breadvan either, it would be nice to that at Silverstone again. Will Peter Hardman be out in older cars this year much ? he seems to have got himself a Ginetta Prototype to play with. |

Pre'63 will exclude the LMB, the Project 214/215 Astons and Daytona Cobras. It should also exclude the later bodied GTOs. It would probably also exclude Project 212, since although a 1962 car, it was a prototype.

Bringing it down to a more realistic level does it include MGB's? TVR Grantura's presumably will only be able to run with the 1600 A engine

Hi minifox- Information on 2009 U2TC series here-
http://www.historicmotorracingnews.com/3.0.html General consensus on here (until full race programme announced) is that their race (or races?) for FIA App K under 2 litre touring cars will be the only one(s) at the Classic a Louts Cortina will be eligible for. The email address is at the bottom. Hope that helps, Mike |

What a great idea this is. Maybe they should alter the date structure in appendix K it might make lots of race meetings more interesting.

Are the 904's particularly quick? About as quick as E's and Cobras maybe. GT40's in different league, surely?

The 904/6 is not as quick as either ,(one of the new E Type's or Cobra's).The 4 cyl engined car is much slower.Idea I presume is to keep mid engine cars out of race so decision not solely based on speed. Its front engine ,rear wheel driven.Note they do not want Elans. It's invitation so entry will be interesting.

It might also be interesting to ponder what a saloon car grid would look like if the same date criteria were applied

I agree - it is a great shame that the Jaguars and Mercedes are ditched in favour of the V8's - it is however period correct as that was what happened when Sears and co started racing Galaxies so a 1963 would make amore optically pleasing grid!
