How foggy is it in April??
Still remember, during my first Britcar 24hrs, doing a 4 hour shift, through the night, watching the cars go round, behind the safety car, in the fog.
The safety car went in just as my shift finished!

Reading this just makes me sad that I (we) won't be able to do it next year. Boo Hoo.

Over the years we have done various duties. Bill was deputy chief flag and I was PieLady, but also ended up in Assembly when not driving round the circuit delivering stuff but always losing Woodcote! No, I don't know why, either. Blame the fog maybe!

And we all ended up on the bank in the first year on the Friday as they were so short of flaggies. I think Sue Mullen ended up running everything on her own in race control that day, or it probably felt like it!

Great times, a great meeting and definitely one to be experienced.

And any rally marshals should definitely latch onto Ian Briggs. They did one of the "muddy" posts just after the circuit re-build. I believe they organised duckboards and straw and made sure they came to me for deliveries rather than making me plough through the quagmire to get to them. It was much appreciated. But you have to buy the headgear to work with Ian!

IMHO nothing can match the Willhire 24 (25) hour. [does that make me v v old?]

SC & Fog? You should have been at Snetterton .

Drone, drone, drone ...... and then the SC leapt into the pits! Why?

1. it was running out of fuel
2. Driver was desperate for a pee!

Those were the days .......

We had something similar during a 3 hour race at Silverstone.
Parked up @ Brooklands in an Aston (think it was a Vantage) we realised that the fuel light was on, after a quick phone call 2 Aston mechanics turned up with a churn and filled us up with the engine still running.

Happy days.

If memory serves, they had to swap SCs at this meeting a couple of years ago, for the same reason.

Not been run for a couple of years so not a Snet 24hr.

WEC last weekend swapped SC's - Why? Fuel? P1ss?

I think there is just a mix up discussing different 24 hour meetings.

I never managed the Snetterton race but really wish I had.

I did the 1990 race. It was the first 24hrs I did, just to see if I could do one before venturing to Le Mans the following year. My biggest memory of it was having to avoid tripping over numerous drunken spectators collapsed on the grass when going to and from post.

OT [ish] 24hr @ Spa. It's not unknown for local pit marshals to come back from their break "tired and emotional" - They were allocated the pit-in buzzer. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Croft Marshal should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I have so many memories of the Britcar weekend, the first one I done was 2008 when I fell off the wall at Club during the night time qually on the Friday, ended up in the medical centre with a torn shoulder and spent the rest of the weekend in the pitlane, great time was had and I have done the pitlane ever since, I think the next year was absolutely soaking wet all the way through, then, missed a year then in 2011 it was a scorcher of a weekend and then in 2012 got soaked again, but that has not dampened my desire to do it all again next year

The Jaguar, the Mustang or the Ford pickup ? Knowing your penchant for competing in commercial vehicles, could it be that you'd like to see the pickup racing ?

I'm now waiting for more mature members to start reminiscing about Ford P100 racing in the mid 80s.
