I think the problem with the 320i was it didn't suit BTCC tracks, and it didn't have the right gearbox (sequential appears to be a huge advantage at all BTCC tracks - whereas it wasn't so much so on ETCC tracks)

The point is though, just because one car is a front runner in one series doesn't mean it will be a front runner in another, which is waht you were implying.

But the same is also true for the Integra. An Integra run by a privateer won't necessarily be as quick as an Integra run by Dynamics.

Why not? Any reasonably competent racing driver could drive that car to poles and wins in my opinion, as it's that quick.

That car was showing it's age last year though. Not surprising it's lagging behind nowadays.

There's also the small matter of that Astra running on a different fuel now - completely different set up.

Showing it's age? That very car won the championship... so it obviously wasn't too bad

Edenbridge didn't manage half the season. As well as the weight issue they cited the lack of availability of a sequencial gearbox and that they couldn't get the Dunlops control tyres to work properly on a RWD car.

Peter Briggs came on here with more excuses than Plato. Shame really, seeing he chose what car he wanted to run, and all.

Grid will be 17 cars - Jason Hughes is back and Andy Neate's out in a Daniels Motorsport Astra Coupe. And they're all going to get a Maxim grid girl. Coo. |
