Race tracks in North America

I'm off on a road trip around the US for 3 months and I've been looking for a list of race tracks so that I can catch some racing on my travels.
I know allot of the big ones like the Glen , Leguna Seca, road america etc..
But I've been trying to find a web site with a list of tracks and their locations.
And it's not working out.
I know there are alot of regular posters here from america and some other posters who have spent time in america, so I thought, cant hurt to ask!.

So if you know any good places to find a list of motorsport venues in the states let me know. Or if there are little birt bowl tracks that are must see.
Thanks

And yes I have a job, yes I did tell them to cram it because I was going to see america, and yes it felt good!

Here's a few off the top of my head:

1. Talladega- 2.5 mile oval in Alabama. There is a museum on site. Mostly oriented towards Nascar, but still interesting.
2. Watkins Glen- The motor racing library is worth a look in the town of Watkins Glen. I could spend days in there.

Have a look at :-

It is being updated atm - so should be an acceptable source.

A beautiful road course and more

Here's a suggestion of a beautiful road course not far from where I live:

Virginia International Raceway

It's in southern Virginia, a bit out of the way, but worth a stopover if you are driving south from Washington, DC. They have something going on almost every weekend from motorcycle racing to historic car races to club races to Grand Am.

North Carolina, where I live, is the center of stock car racing (though it's not really my thing) but if you have an interest in it, then there are many, many attractions here for the fan. There are superspeedways like Charlotte and lots of small 1/4 mile tracks. Many major stock car teams are based here and it's possible to visit their workshops.
