Farbrooke has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
if you look at http://www.racingpincus.com/2003/rmu...uclassic51.jpg

this is the Blydenstein HC Viva sister car to Old Nail and more in keeping with the shell you are using for the model.

Mark.

What are you using as the base model for you kit, a Vanguard perhaps?

I only ask as I would like to build a model of the 1970 Shaw & Kilburn Group 2 Viva that Gerry raced.

I was going to, ask the same question. I don't remember that and always looked out for racing Vauxhalls (for some reason).

Picture is from Spa in 2003 - car is at www.beaulieu.ie in the museum - owned and driven by Gabriel Konig

Originally built in 1973 for Irish Champion Des Donnelly by Bill Blydenstein- bought by Philip DeFreitas (Gabriel's then husband) in 1974 - shipped to Guyana South America where they raced it until late 80's when returned to Ireland - last used Phoenix Park 2007 - still in full running order with original Lotus 904 engine etc - the only one of these original four cars built in an HC shell

The first coat of Gloss white was applied this evening to get a base for when it gets done Silver.
I had some Silver spray but when I tried it on a test piece it wasn't right, so I will buy a brand new aerosol tin tomorrow if I can a vauxhall silver colour

At the moment the ride height looks high, bit the base isn't screwed in yet

I have fitted the front lights and grille just to see how the front looks now the spoiler is all blended in. It will be lifted out again when the Silver goes on.

Still got to decide on design of rollcage and then fit the seats and find some decent decals for it

Peter, some great shots from Brands a couple of weeks back. How about posting some in "Historic Racing Today" from that meeting?
