2010 Season Championship Scenarios

Get ready for This...

A Guy on another forum figured this out, and since he did a ton of work on it, I'll let you look it over...many possibilities here...

He goes by the name "vandele" over at TF, so I'm giving credit where proper credit is due!

Power is up by 12

I believe Power wins the tiebreaker based on race wins

Power not on pole and not leading most laps

Power wins - game over

Power P2 (40), Dario needs 53 (win (50) and take pole (1) and lead most laps (2)) = 53

Power P3 (35), Dario needs 48 - Dario must win (50)

Power P4 (32), Dario needs 45 - Dario must win (50)

Power P5 (30), Dario needs 43 - Dario P2 (40) + pole (1) + laps (2) = 43 or Win=50

Power P6 (28) - Dario needs 41 - Dario P2 (40) + pole or laps = 41 or 43 or Win=50

Power P7 (26) - Dario needs 39 - Dario P2 (40) or Win=50

Power P8 (24) - Dario needs 37 - Dario P3 (35) + Laps = 37, P2, or Win

Power P9 (22) - Dario needs 35 - Dario P3=35 or P2 or P1

Power P10 (20) - Dario needs 33 - P5=30 + pole + laps = 33, P4=32 + laps or pole = 33 or 35, P3=35, P2, or win

Many thanks to "Vandele" at TF for figuring all of this out.

Now we have nice little scorecards based on who sits on the pole that you can just print out as the race unfolds.

Who do you think will win the championship, based on what you see here?

I guess that if there is a tie, Power wins because he won the most races this year? Or can Franchitti level up with that number this weekend (I'm not sure how many races Franchitti won this year to be honest).

Power would win it based on more victories than Dario.

IIRC, that was the way Sam Hornish won his last series title...he did it via tht tiebreaker with more wins.
