British weekend in Belgium and Holland

Seems to be 2 british weekends in Belgium and Holland.
They are talking about some stock Hatch and Division One drivers.
Any names?

They give us here just two names: hal Ridge and Tony Bell.

Look at the website of the Eurocircuit. So far three Stockhatch drivers and a bunch of minis. I doubt Tony Bell will come, as the Corolla is not homologated anymore.

Tony Bell will be joined in Belguim this weekend by Derek Jobb in his new look Escort RS2000, Tony Bardy confirmed this at Pembrey.

About 10 minicross cars and 4 stockhatch cars will also be present in Belguim and the following weekend in Holland.

Good luck to all the Brits.

It was also confirmed that Chris Evans will be doing the Belguim, Dutch and Czech republic rounds of the ERC this year as well as the Superprix.

Also an exclusive for the ROC event at Lydden in September could see Dave Bellerby and another top Super National driver swapping cars............... watch this space for more info............!

I can confirm I am doing both events, really looking forward to it.

I am the only stockhatch going.

Tony Bell is certainly going, along with 10 minicross cars.

There are a few other supercars going over for one weekend or the other.

Can't wait!!!

So why can a Corolla still enter the ERC of Hungary?

Current FIA rules:

4.1 The FIA Championship is open to vehicles
of Divisions 1, 1A and 2 as specified in Appendix J
(Article 279) to the current International Sporting
Code. Unless there is an indication to the contrary
on the homologation form excluding certain
evolutions, Group A and N cars are permitted,
during a further period of four years following the
expiry of their homologation, to participate in
Rallycross International Events on the following conditions:
- the FIA homologation papers are produced at
documentation and at scrutineering;
- the cars are in conformity with the Technical
Regulations (Appendix J) valid at the date of the
expiry of their homologation and are in a sound
condition to participate, at the discretion of the
Scrutineers;
- the size of the turbo restrictors and the minimum
weight are those currently valid.

Division 1: Touring cars homologated in Group A
or in Supertouring and conforming to Appendix J -
Group A (Articles 251 to 255); the modifications
listed in Appendix J (Articles 279.2 and 279.3) are
permitted. Cars must be rigidly closed nonconvertible

No more Escort in the 2007 homologation list.
My last homologation list with the Escort RS2000 Mk3 (A5450) shown is from April 2004 and reads homologation runs out December 31 2004. Therefore I guess any Escort called RS2000 can be used till December 31 2008 for international RX.

PhergAthor should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I had a great time being a one-day-member of the HR-team. Hal was up against the D1a boys, and dind't stand a chance with his 205. He had fun on the track that he comments as totally different to what he's used to. The Duivelsberg being a lot more twisty and technical than the UK tracks. He eventually became 12th, just 1 place off the B-final (no C-final run in D1a).

The mini's were fun to watch. The twisty track proving to be well suited for the small cars. They seemed quite fast.

In D1/supercars Jobb and Bell came in 4th and 5th. They matched the speed of the regulars except for Kuypers and Van Mechelen, who were clearly on top.

Overal a very good days racing under a blazing sun.

Cracking days racing yesterday. Completely agree with PhergAthor comments as the British boys/girls put on a good show.

Fantastic track and we all enjoyed running the joker lap. Never done that before and I'm now converted. Throw up a few surprises with the Minis. Well done to JT (John Thacker) on his comback drive as he was undefeated all day and won the A final from Edd Collett and Mark Griffin.

Bring on Valkenswaard next weekend. By the way PhergAthor I was driving the white Mini yesterday.

HrRacing Rallyesport supported by Greenergy takes it European Bow

With Hal Ridge being the only Stockhatch driver to compete he was up against it from the beginning being up against some of the best Div 1A cars in Europe. Despite his 80bhp deficit, standard gearbox and diff, not to mention the lack of adjustable suspension etc he did not only himself but also British Rallycross proud.

Taking advantage of whatever he could, mainly his youth, enthusiasm and fast reactions, Hals main opportunity to have fun was into the first corner. In both Belguim and Holland he surprised the locals by being in the mix at the first Corner being there to take advantage of whatever may happen (lol).

Disappointed at not making the B final in Belguim, Despite the last qualifying driver not turning up for his race, Hal did not let it get him down and Vowed to make amends in Holland.

And make ammends he did, despite suffering the same deficiencies again and the blistering heat, he yet again had to take whatever opportunities he could, Making the B final was a great reward and a first corner melee gave him an opportunity to show the race craft he has developed over the years. He picked his way through the spinning cars and made a break for it. Then for 5 laps he had a fantastic battle with a red 206, i've never seen such a wide 205!

A fantastic forth in the B final topped off a fantastic social week

HrRacing Rallyesport would like to thank Team Bell, The Veltman family, all the revivals crew and PhergAthor. oh and most importantly Jess for putting up with cars for a whole week!

Wow what a week!!!

I would like to thank all the mini drivers, too many to name and their 'other halves' - Tony Bell and family and the Veltman Family - all of you were wonderful - they all know we apriciate everything so much!

Wim - thanks for all your help - hope you enjoyed being team translator for the day.

Andy - couldn't have done week / weekends without you - hope your not too sick of the sight of the back of my trailer and obvioulsy Jess - say no more - sorry about all the car talk.

Won my first race last time I was racing in England (Blyton) - but beating Div 1a cars in europe tops that many times over. Was beside myself after the Holland B Final, and not just because I had lost half my weight in sweat because it was so hot.

Couldn't have done more fun 'stuff' during the week. Drunken nights with everyone in the pub, hearing some very interesting stories off some unexpected people (they are best left in the Netherlands) - the on mass bombing in the campsite pool - watching GP testing at Spa - The beer factory tour, compeate with transport too and from the venue in a tractor and trailer from 'Grand Master Veltman' (Wim) - the water sking, perhaps not the best idea before racing but such such fun!!

The circuits were amazing - so nice to drive. Both of different reasons.

Could go on for hours...
