Guys, I haven't myself seen an entry list for a few days but I can tell you that across the day you should see Aston Martin DB3 & 3S, the Maurice Gomm bodied Jaguar Special, the newly restored Wingfield Special, a couple of the rare post war Frazer Nash models, Tojeiro Climax and Osca 4MT to name but a few.

JT I wish you guys the best on this - really admire the way you have stayed true to your vision at the short term cost of grid numbers. Ultimately it will result in a strong series.

Thanks, Simon. The FLIERS entry is low but with quality and we do intend to stick to our guns regarding eligibility. However, we have compensated for the low number on that grid by an absolutely first class grid for our Inter-Marque race, both in quality and quantity.

like to think that there will be a published entry list before we are all on our way to the event, that's common courtesy.
on another point we entered 4 races, £1240, admittedly very late, only got a private vehicle pass, a vehicle paddock pass & 7 people passes.

Excellent day.
Some lovely tin whizzing around and great racing.

The main Fiscar race was a cracker and highlight of my day.

Will post some photos during the week.

Wasn't it just, we were holding keeping fingers & toes crossed on the pit wall for whole race thinking that AS would get overtaken, look forward to seeing the photos.

Some great racing throughout the day with full/quality grids in most races.

With the BOGOF ticket deal, worked out at £7.50 for the day, compared to Revival at £7.50 per race for the paying public!
No wonder there was a good crowd.

Well done to all, this meeting should be a cracker in 2014, date in diary already!

I'm away at the moment so will comment properly when I get back home at the end of the week but briefly a superb day with every race being closely fought - yes even the FLIERS!

Sorry I couldn't oblige - the Elite broke a diff quarter shaft on the second lap and I had to watch Andy and Mike's dice from behind the armco at Quarry.

It was an excellent race for the spectators.

Sorry Brian, I did give a little cheer when you didn't come round, it let the race begin in earnest, I thought we were in with a chance as we can't beat you.

After that we just concentrated on getting our pitstop absolutely bang on.
Andy made a brilliant start (must have been taking lessons as I told him 10 minutes ago), we took 5 seconds out of the Healey in the pitstop & out lap, luckily the race was shortened by a few minutes as the Healey overtook just after the finish line (winning margin 0.073s) but Andy thought that the race hadn't finished neither did the Healey, they just didn't see the chequered flag.
The only reason they stopped was because of waved yellows.

love Castle Combe - where else could you get DB3S' and Vauxhall Tigra's on the same race card..... always gets crowds as its such a friendly circuit. Really hope I can do this meeting next year

It was pretty foggy (and dark!) when I went out on the bike for a recce but once the sun came up it was different place. An enthusiastic crowd always helps raise the spirits and, along with every marshal/official/competitor I spoke to, everyone was really in the mood for a good day.

No excuses this week, even had this season's tyres, car sorted by the lads at Delta while the boss was swanning about sur le continent, and I felt very relaxed about the whole thing. Qualified 4th, rubbish start but back up to 4th by end of first lap then had a lonely half hour in the sunshine while the leaders pulled away. There were always a couple of cars in the mirror and when the stripey flags came out towards the end I backed off rather than risk the car, not realising that at the front Anthony Reid had picked up a puncture promoting me to 3rd. If I'd known that I'd have left a larger buffer behind but in the event there wasn't time for them to do much about it and it was E-types 1-2-3, an XK then Richard Butterfield in his Mk1 who must have driven like a man possessed and who won the Norman Dewis trophy for driver of the race.

It shows what can be done when there are no 5 litre E-types around

You'll be pleased to know that planning for 2014 is already underway. C Combe were very pleased with matters . It gave their third best crowd of the year and they are planning for much more in future years. This event is only going to grow from now on. Tks for the pics Brands I hope I can borrow a couple for the FISCAR website ( credited )?
