I don't think there's any prize money. Just lots of silverware... and I'm pretty sure you have to hand those back after the photographs are taken.

Thanks! Looking forward to the first race. It's a chance to run with friends, meet new people and celebrate a fresh start.

Off TRS site:

Is there television coverage of TRS races?
Yes, our current contract provides for 60 minutes of coverage from each of the championship events. This footage is initially screened on TV3′s Motorsport program and subsequently repeated screenings are on Sky Television.

To the right of the TRS hompage there's a link to Live Timing.
http://www.toyotaracing.co.nz/

You have to register at the site (ioutplay.com) but it already has some lap times for testing of the NZV8's, so that's promising for tomorrow's TRS testing.

Sweet sounds good! Shame about the tv coverage, seems it's only viewable in NZ not in Aus as well.

Trouble is those times were this mornings practice, they aren't even in the right order, and there's nothing else! At least My Laps is working but that's not showing the TRS yet. AAAAARRRRGH!

Fancy denying the mother-country!

Congratulations to Josh on his win, and the two Kiwis Damon Leitch and Jono Lester for filling out the podium. Great result guys.

Looking critically, I don't see to many stars in there. That Damon L was 5th in the dry and came 2nd in the race. Tells you the ability of the rest is pretty poor.

The PR keeps telling us that these are the F1 drivers of the future. I'm not so sure. I think you'd need to see more raw ability than this

On a positive note - it does show the wisdom of the '2 season' approach (a la Lewis Hamilton) First season to learn, 2nd season to win.

Well done Josh - lets see what today brings

it's not really something to be judging talent on. there isn't a single alternative dimension in which josh hill is a better driver than nathanael berthon.

Got everything done early today so I can sit and watch TRS on TV3 and it's only the "support" classes on. May as well go find the results now, I have stayed away from them so I could watch it.

Let me explain the race to you.
Lap of 2400m divided by 58 sec = average speed of 41m/sec
So after the first lap 0.3 sec faster = 12 meters in front (3 car lengths) x 12 laps equals 144m. Thats some close racing! Not. The next three sumble over each other so the final winning margin is greater.

TRS. Won and lost on the start and first corner if the driver is consistent.

For the teams in genuine need of contracts, this weekend races were a good advertising. Good grid, good racing and good organizer.

And Little Hill is miles away from his father talent...
