Alfa Fan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Volvo to run 3rd car.

Gabriele Tarqunini is in line to return to the ETCC as Volvo looks to add a third S60 to it's attack. Volvo want Prodrive to run the third car from Anderstorp in late June to the end of the season. A lack of finace could still scupper the plans according to Volvo boss Olle Odsell. The news came after BMW critized Volvo for only running 2 cars. Gabriele Tarquini would be expected to carry the number 62 to fit with the other Volvos.

It would be good to see another Volvo as well as Tarquini in this years ETCC.

Though I am an Alfa guy, it would also be nice if someone else won a race.

I was worried that the new cars would not look or sound enough like ST cars and would come of like "showroom stock", but this is not the case. I think that they look great.

What is the score as far as sequential boxes? Will it happen in 2003? In the long run it is cheaper, so what is the problem BMW?

This years ETCC is good, but '03 could be OTT as I think you will see many more cars.

Now if I can just get Eurosport in Indianapolis!

If you check the story at www.touringcartimes.com you will see that not only is Tarquini in contention for seat, but so is one of the new Super Swede's -

JENS EDMAN !!!!!!!!!!!!
(the other Super Swede is Sandstrom)

Nothing against Tarquini - he is a great bloke and a superb driver. One of the greats.

But Edman deserves the drive - he has helped develop the S60 Super 2000 car.

He knows Anderstorp like the back of his hand.

I strongly urge Volvo to put Edman in the third S60. The young man has earnt his right to the seat. I hope Volvo make the right decision.

I wonder why is BMW criticizing Volvo so hard for not fielding a 3rd car? I wonder if BMW is hoping that a 3rd car would stretch and weaken Volvo's development of the S60? For the record, I like all touring car manufacturers, despite the fact it seems I sometimes hate BMW!!

Volvo could run 4 cars- Rickard Rydell, James Hanson, Jens Edman and Gabriele Tarquini- then they would have some chance against the 8 BMWs, the 7 Alfas, and the pair of privateer Hondas and Nissans.

If it hadn't been for BMW demanding the change from the original set of rules, Volvo would have had many cars out from the start of the season.
