Now this is a proper race track. With the long front straight and on home ground, you'd have to expect Ducati to win; there'll be a riot otherwise.

Lets hope so I have always liked Capirossi from his controversial 125 championship win to his controversial 250 championship win. Last year he could have done really well until the spectacular crash. I expected more of him this year, so I am hoping he picks up.
I think he won't want to be upstaged again by his teammate. Jeff |

Ducati's to dominate at Mugello. They will be going all-out to win where it matters most.

Will they run the nice liveries and leathers again this year that they had last?

Apparently Ducati have modified the bike to help Capirossi adapt.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/59250 I'll still put my money on Stoner, with Rossi overcoming his bike to be right up there. Suzuki, and if the rumours on the web are to be believed, Kawasaki are progressing quickly. |

Indeed Im afraid I have to agree with Knowlesy, unless something big happens I cant really see anyone touching the Dukes this weekend, they are simply too fast in a straight line.

Agreed regarding Ducati being the favorite. But despite Mugello having a long straight, the remainder of the track is very good and could suit some other bikes. I don't think it's wise to count Rossi out at this particular track.

i think the duke is a good allround bike i think it's speed has over shadowed how good the rest of the bike is, Casey didn't just fluke 3rd at LeMans a trak where the dukes speed was no advantage and he also done it in the wet.
i would say Vermulen might carry his form in the wet to maybe Mugello in the wet. |

I think Vermeulen will struggle to get in the top 10 if it's dry.
Remember Rossi also won at Mugello during his first year on the Yamaha. He shouldn't have won that time either. Melandri is also getting better and him being an Italian at his hometrack... What I'm trying to say is, there is still hope for a good race. My flight leaves on Friday |

Remember Ducati's first race at Mugello.
It'll be the same here, only the bike works properly in more than just the straight line. Look out for An all Honda front row, some Rossi magic and for stoner/capirex to win from the 2nd/3rd rows. |

can i tip a west/vermeulen double if it rains - no, i hope it dont as my girlfriend is going there to get me some valentino merchandise & hopefully see a casey win... the things she does for me
well, one would think that the ducati's would blow everyone away as should lorenzo in the 250's - maybe a damp track wouldnt be a bad thing! really looking forward to this race - in my opinion the best bike race track in the world |

Stoner on an Italian Ducati v. Rossi the Italian hero on home ground has the ingredients for an epic race. Intense pressure on Rossi to win and pressure on Stoner for a Ducati win. It's all so delicious you can almost taste it.

I can see a Ducati 1-2 happening here if the team is on the money this round (Casey winning of course)
Id love to see Hayden on the podium - no luck and no support from Pedrohonda |

An all Honda front row Hazza? Surely you are joking? Can't see it personally. No pace down the straight should keep them off the front row (excepting Pedrobot maybe). Not that the bike is brilliant on the other parts either.
I would love to see Capirossi win this event. An Italian rider on an Italian bike winning the Italian GP. Would be brilliant! Oh, and he's getting a revised package from Ducati. "Mugello seems to suit our bike, and it is also one of Loris' favourite tracks, where he has always been very competitive. So, having listened to his feedback and analysed his data, we have prepared a new package to help him fight for the kind of results he's accustomed to achieving," confirmed Ducati Corse Director Filippo Preziosi. "These changes aim to modify the GP7's power delivery to offer rideability that's better suited to Lori's riding style. The changes include electronics - revised engine mapping and ride-by-wire set-up - and mechanics - revised cam timing and fluid-dynamics. The same package will also be available for Casey if he wants to try it." http://www.crash.net/news_View~cid~6~id~148715.htm I think Vermeulen can go well in the dry, if he can figure out how to qualify the bike. His race times have been quick, he just has to come from a long way back. Enjoy yourself Gerben! |

Reasoning for my madness:
The Bridgestone Quali tyre SUCKS. Ergo, Honda's front row. Trust me. They'll have the HP edge over the Yammies at this round... |
