Thundersports should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I was impressed how this machine was driven dispite a lurid spin coming out the Village complex Saturday night. Nice bit of variety what engine did it run in period?

The engine proved the cars downfall in its one and only World Sportscar Championship appearance at Sandown in 1988

The chevy engine was too thirsty and the car used more than the amount allowed in the regulations

Actually I think the team did a splash & dash stop late in the race that wasn't really needed and that tipped them over the limit??

I seem to remember a comment after the race that if they could delete the fuel left in the tank they would've snuck in under the limit

Rally Merc should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I used to work for K and A and heard all the stories. They filled up the refuel breather up with fuel so it didn't come from the allotted supply, which emptied into the tank at the start of the refuel. Someone saw them do it though. It was either that or not finish. Even before the start of the race they new they would use to much fuel. They took a punt and lost.
