As a Works team, they always have 3 cars--2 "main" cars and a backup. I don't think the backup is ever used unless something happens to the main cars. As a result, I wonder if the backup car has any bugs that were worked out in the "main" cars? I can only assume the STCC team got the backup?

I don´t know if the car is a "backup"-car.

But the STW-Honda have only been used at one race by Tarquini

Two more independ. team will drive the STCC:

Jens Edman ,who drived in the Volvo-works team last year, will drive a Volvo S40 -98 in an independent-team.

Jan Lindblom will drive a Ford Mondeo-97b (Tomas Johansson raced the car last year in the Ford Works-team)

I wonder how did Jens get that Volvo? On loan or did he buy it for a cheap price? I thought Volvo never sold their cars to Privateers. They kept all the cars as Works entries only? OTOH, I think they were "forced" to sell a S40 to one SEATCZC team due to sponsor pressure?

I don´t know if he borrow the car or if he have bought it.

Mattias Ekström drived a Volvo 850 in the STCC 1997 in a privateer-team (but I think that they borrowed the car). I have not heard anything about other privateers who have drived Volvos.

Kmchow, a big Finnish company own two Volvo S40 -98. One car was drived by Nilsson last year and the second car is from Australia. A Finnish driver will mayby drive the second Volvo later in the season.

Does the finnish company's name start with an "E"? The SEATCZC Volvo is owned by a company that starts with "E"?

Yeah, it would be sad to lose track and control of the cars though, say the 850.

I believe that you mean Ericsson?

Ericsson is Swedish, but there is a big Finnish company that starts with "N".

Now wouldn't it be interesting if the SEATCZC based Swedish Ericsson Volvo takes on the STCC based Finnish NOKIA Volvo?? =) Hmm, this is unusual that a sponsor would end up buying the car?

Has this occurred ever before? I wonder how much it cost them?

I´m not 100% sure that it is Nokia who have bough the cars yet. But there is only one BIG company in Finnland and it is Nokia.

Peggen Andersson will race with the same BMW320 that Jonny Cecotto won the STW 1998.

I don´t think he can beat Volvo,Audi and Nissan. The BMW is starting to get old

DON'T be too sure Koffe!!! =) Paul Morris beat Volvo and Peugeot in his "older" '97 spec BMW in the ASTC in '99.

I'm sure his '98 spec BMW can still take on the Volvos and probably match the Audis.
BTW, did Volvo win the STCC this year? Sorry, I can't read Swedish!!

hey, can you help translate the many news clippings at the STCC site for us??

Hey, is Stig still racing in the '00 STCC? He is selling his Mondeo? I see Lennart Bohlin's Primera is also for sale? Are they both leaving the STCC or just hoping to upgrade?

Stig Blomqvist will not race in STCC 2000, I don´t know who owns his old Mondeo. But Jan Lindblom will drive T Jonansson´s Ford Mondeo

I don´t know if Bohlin will race in the STCC.
