Thinking he would expand given the right sponsorship/driver package. Just doesn't want to revert to marginal deals of years past. The right driver/sponsor/money - hard to believe Chip wouldn't be agreeable to a 3rd car.

Hopefully Ed Jones retains his seat. Would be a bit harsh to lose it, and he's in a bit of a Vandoorne situation with his team mate.

marco andretti is the definition of midfielder but overall i'm pretty impressed with the quality of the indycar fields post unification. there are a lot of serious drivers in the championship and due to the silly number of cars the front teams run, about 8-9 drivers are capable of the win every race.

I think Ed has done a pretty good job this year. Another top ten tonight. Not sure of their strategy but he may have been hurt by the late caution. He was running top 5 earlier.

I guess I didn't realize how serious it was, but the back procedure / injury alone would make sense to be intubated for a time.

Having trouble finding the specifics now, but it appears he's also had procedures on his extremities. Thought I read wrist and both ankles / feet fractured too.

Hope he continues to recover, but it's gonna be a long road ahead of him.

Saw that, was pretty surprised at the price. Have never been clear on how the Speedway has acquired the number of winning cars it has. Guessing low ball offers to teams at the end of the season. Perhaps Andretti has figured out a better way to market them.

Indycar radio has reported that the contract for the COTA 2019 race is nearly complete and will be announced soon. Likely to replace Phoenix on the schedule. Also that Richmond will be on the 2020 schedule.

Kind of odd reference to "unverified sources portraying his condition as less than severe". Everything I've read has sounded consistent with the list of injuries in the link, though I hadn't previously read about the neck injury. Hope that doesn't mean spinal cord injury in two places.

It's certainly possible. If Rossi wins the race, Dixon must finish 2nd to retain the points lead. If Dixon finishes 20th or worse, Rossi could win the championship with anything better than 8th (8th would be enough if he leads a lap or gets pole).

Newgarden and Power are still possible winners as well. I haven't done the math but assume that Rossi and Dixon would both have to dnf for a Penske to win the championship.

I'm guessing that includes the math for the stupidity of double points to end the season? I don't feel as bad about Indy being double but the season finale, no way
