Anyone know when the 2006 V8 Supercar Race Calendar willl be anounced?

I think they said on The Panelbeaters that a calendar would probably be released about September-time.

Doesnt it depend on the AFL fixturing, as 10 cannot commit until they know their responsibilities under the AFL contract,

Why dont you make it up Mabs like you have everywhere else. Keep the attention on the V8s with your inane calenders.

Have heard from a reliable source that Eastern Creek is making way for Bahrain.
The rough order from my best of memory is

Clipsal
Grand Prix

Perth
China
Darwin
New Zealand
Queensland
Oran Park Can't remember the exact order for these six but it was along those lines.

Then
Sandown
Bathurst
Indy
Bahrain late november
Phillip Island second weekend of december

Lets hope not.

It will be a sad day for the ATCC and Australian motorsport if Bahrain does replace Eastern Creek, however I thought the Bahrain was more looking at 2007 ?

Why can't we have both Eastern Creek and Bahrain?

13 Races is not enough!

I doubt that they will get rid of Eastern Creek, its a big event on the calendar and probably has some of the best facilities. I think it will be Oran Park that may have to go, though i would prefer it if they didnt get rid of any events and just added them on

Why get rid of Oran Park when it pulls twice the crowd of the Creek

The 2006 calender will be released at a dinner at Crown Casino on September 6, the tuesday before Sandown.
I know this because all our guests for our Sandown preview show on In Pit Lane have pulled out due to the fact that they have to be there.
I've been told that Eastern Creek, and Phillip Island are the two circuits most under threat. It'll depend on how PI goes this year but being only a few weeks out from Xmas it'll be a big sell to pull it off.
Tony will be loathe to get rid of any Sydney round as they desperatly need that market.

Personally, I think we need more than 13 rounds. The gaps between rounds (usually 3-4 weeks), are far too big.

Cavvy: Because Oran Park is a good show and you can see most of the track from the top end and most people can't justify the costs of going twice, especially those with families, and those that do go twice, have Bathurst as an option.

This would be a better one......

In no specific order,

Australian Races:
Albert Park, VIC (only if it is for Championship points)
Adelaide, SA
Barbagallo, WA
Eastern Creek, NSW (only if the promoter guarantees a 20K + crowd......)
Hidden Valley,NT
Queensland,QLD (only if the track owners stop their moaning)
Oran Park, NSW
Sandown, VIC (only if Davo has has 3 bottles of red by the presentations)
Mount Panorama, NSW
Symmons Plains, TAS (only if it doesn't rain)
Phillip Island, VIC (only if Lindsay Fox gives me a Condo)
Surfers Paradise, QLD (Champcars) (only if the girls show their T*ts)
Winton, VIC (unfortunatly only when Mick Ronke & CAMS kiss & make up, and there's more chance of a 25,000 crowd at Eastern Creek than that)

International Races:
Pukekohe Park, New Zealand (only if murph wears gumboots & velcro gloves in a promo photo)
Shanghai, China (only if my local chow shop starts to cook the dimmies right)
Bahrain, Middle East (only if bloody petrol prices come back to 90 cents a litre).

If Bahrain is part of the 2006 Race Calendar then the races will probably be shown Live on TV. (about 7:00pm)

Possibly, or they will do what they do at the likes of Wanneroo or China, and run the races earlier in the day to fit in with the east-coast TV times.
