I guess those are decent times for teams like Dyson and the like, but a far cry from past times.

Who cares? Cars at the circuit! Wish I was there now!

It's also the first time the cars hit the track. Never see any record breaking done in the first few days of the week

Looking at the pics from today I wouldn't want to be in that thing if it gets hit by larger GT like a Viper or Corvette. I really worry about driver safety in this car.

So the Dyson is about 2-3 seconds away from what the Peugeot was doing?

Fastest lap of the race last year was by Peugeot at a 1:08.8.

Peugeot took the pole at 1:07.4

All time lap record is 1:06.2 by 2008 Peugeot.

To give you an idea how fast these cars are, the old track record was by Davy Jones in the 1992 Jaguar at a 1:07.4 without the turn 10a and 10b complex!

So a little more than 3 seconds, 1:08.8 fastest race lap, so pace is about 1:09's, and they're currently in the 1:12s.

Anyone think that if Rebellion sew up the win on Saturday it could push them into the ALMS full time next year?

They are already talking about adding Sebring and Petit to a WEC season in '13, but they could go the whole hog?

What's in it for the rebellion racing team as a whole to race the soon to be defunct ALMS? As much as I want more teams to pour in, I unfortunately don't see anyone going out of their way to invest in the series. Maybe a win here will encourage them for 2014, but then again there are a lot of other factors which will influence that decision. We've got another 8 hours worth of testing again today. I'm liking what the Vipers are doing so far, it would be awesome simply to see them mid-pack come thursday/friday.

Are things damp there today?

It's purely the chance to run for outright wins each and every week. I think it would be kind of strange to see them make the jump but it's clearly an attraction to them if they are taking on their current logistical challenge.

I suppose it comes down to whether there is going to be a chance of a works tie-up. And if so how do you best go about attracting that manufacturer?

Nice livery! As a side note, I see the Robertson Racing transporter in the background so I'm guessing that one of the visiting teams is renting it!

Yes! Both he and David are there; not sure if they'll have a third driver though.

This morning's practice times; the session started wet after some early morning rain, then the sun came out in the last hour.

The 01 ESM Ferrari has a matching livery. I'm not so certain it is going to show very well on the track... the livery that is.

Ultimat Vodka is also on the crossover bridge coming down the hill to Turn 12. There is a leftover ILMC billboard, but I bet something else will be on it come Wednesday.

Too bad David and Andrea weren't tempted to dust one of their babies off and bring it out for their home race. Such good people, a real addition to the paddock.
