Full Boost should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Why wasnt Jason Bright penalised!

How many cars did he take out again? 3...4...5?? yet still no stop-go penalty! That is ridiculous considering others got penalised for just curb hopping!!

He lost 50 points instead. Someone has said he did get a stop go but it was not televised.

I haven't watched the tapes of the races yet - and won't be until next weekend (if at all!) but Brights lap times indicate he made 3 pit stops in race one - the one everyone made near the start and then two consecutive stops giving him lap times of 2:25, 1:58 and then a 1:26.

The points shown by both AVESCO and Shell don't indicate any penalty being placed on Bright and there has been nothing in any media releases as yet.

mtpanorama you state that Bright avoided punishment because he drives for HRT but weren't Bright & Skaife docked thirty points each earlier in the season for an indescretion by one of their team members in the paddock which was an offence neither driver committed. That was without doubt the most idiotic punishment of the season.

Ray Kershler in today’s Daily Telegraph started his column “Murphy’s law as farce mars victory” “A few people tried to rewrite the script but Greg Murphy outsped his rivals and outwitted officialdom…”

Does this mean that 1) Murphy did not stick to the script. or 2) that the officials changed the script and didn’t tell him.

Maybe the race director was checking his script instead of watching the race causing him to miss Bright driving like a peanut.

- What about when a mechanic lets a wheel nut roll across the pit road, or there are too many mechanics working on the car at one time, or heaven forbid, the mechanics do something that isn't within the spirit of the rule book? The driver gets penalised. It's a team sport these days, so I suppose that is life.

HRT have copped as good as they are given. There will always conspiracy theories though.

Skaife was the best, better than his team mate, and the rest simply weren't consistantly good enough...

Bomn, don't believe anything Ray Kershler writes. That is all I will say. Actually it isn't, what he wrote was technically accurate but it didn't really tell you what happened, which is typical of Ray.

I am surprised that Ray Kershler doesn’t call the drivers jockeys.

Crash,

Whilse I agree it is a team sport, I saw an FTR vehicle go straight through a red light the other day in Dandenong - he has obnviously brought the sport into disrepute and Glenn Seton should be docked 30 points!

Where does the meeting end is the question I would ask? Teams should not be held accountable for the antics or otherwise of their team members after the event has finished - ie 6pm when the permit ceases.

Otherwise why isn't officialdom penalised for the antics of somoe of the flaggies <g>

Yeah fair enough. On the Saturday night coming home from the QLD 500, we spotted a Tarago with about 15 HRT crew members jammed in it...that would have been a funny one if the boys in blue spotted them!

BTW- do you still have a Torago, and is it possible to fit 15 blokes in one?

Also, what about when Bright snotted Ingall off the track in the first race? It sort of takes you back to Eastern Creek when Ingall nerfed Bargwanna- because they all members of the Holden Chumbly Bum Team of Champions, at the stewards hearing, Bargs dismissed it as nothing... Me thinks if it were a Ford team on a Holden team, or vice versa, there would have been an outcry...

BTW- What if that hit by Bright had a bearing on the outcome of the championship placings?

Jason did loose 50 points at New Zealand. After round 11 he had 2504 points, got 181 points for finishing 4th at NZ, that makes 2685, take the 50 for the penalty is 2635 points. Thats what AVESCO has for the progressive points. It was only updated today.
