Here's to hoping for a more inspiring livery for the Porsche. The Porsche Intelligent Performance nonsense they have on top isn't doing it for me...Fans can be captivated by an inspiring livery. What is that so hard to grasp?

Yup.. Say what you will about cigarette sponsorships but at least they made for great liveries!

Someone needs to tell the PR department that their brilliant concept is a total failure.
260 K saw the cars over several days and not a one of them saw anything but random gray stripes on white cars. Not exactly "intelligent design." |

Thought the V4 would allow the 919 to run 1 to 2 more laps than Audi and Toyota. Porsche was quoted as saying as much. Wonder what happened?

The #14 did run some 14-lap stints, the only P1H to do so.

I'm really surprised if both Audi and Porsche continue with the same white based liveries next year. |

Porsche were under substantial pressure to perform this year, but it is nothing compared to the pressure that they will be under in 2015. May the mistakes be corrected quickly and may the 2015 car be like a phoenix rising from the ashes of the troubled 2014 car.

They just need something recognisable that fans can get behind.
Right now they just come off a bit cold and corporate. Poor choice of racing merchandise too I thought. Fans at the track would literally throw money at them if they had anything even slightly decent. |

Perhaps related to this - Nick Daman wasn't happy with the way he was manhandled by Porsche security post-race. I thought he was joking initially but maybe Porsche do need to open up a little bit more? Although I can understand not wanting reporters around immediately after a 24 hour race.

As said, they are bland & corporate. I was hoping the Manthey run 991 GT3 RSR's would run the green/yellow colours. |

Mark Webber: "We had some problems with the car at around 8pm when something wasn't working quite right in the front of the car, which made the handling very interesting to say the least. It's a shame as the rest of the car was working really well."
Good news, in a way---I had been thinking he was just slow. I had heard broken rear anti-roll bar but apparently something broke up front. Either way, Porsche has the rest of the season to show speed. It's great they led at Le Mans but nothing will bolster the project like a race win or two. |

Agreed! The car came to Le Mans with the reputation for speed. It leaves it with that reputation in tatters. Le Mans served as a reality check. The competitors have shown just how quick they really are. All sand bags have been jettisoned.
Porsche must now find pace as well as reliability. |

Tried to get an interview with Porsche drivers post-race, but they closed the shutters and the security guys blocked his way. Drivers wanted to talk, but he couldn't get to them.
