I just read the post about optical sensors for starts. Well,if technology is going to affect f1 that bad,why not go to the extreme and use GPS to drive the 'driver-less' cars. You can theoretically control the car around the track on the optimum line and also adjust to other cars.If you have computer assisted brakes and TC,you actually dont need a driver driving a car.
All the drivers will be out of jobs and people like me(software geeks) will be the ones earning millions! |

Nothing like this will ever happen. Why?? Because we'd all turn off, and what's f1 all about?? TV ratings.

Next, we'll be watching those automatic lawn mowers go at it in our back yards.

it actaully possible to do it even today.Even now the fia seems to be saying that they will allow tc but not brake assist. This is ridiculous. You can so easily sneak a few codes and allow that. Its quite similar to tc in function.the only difference is that its connected to the brake pedal. If the fia actually introducd tc because they could not police the 'illegal' TC systems, this move wont help them at all.Now they will have illegal abs the fia will find themselves in the same helpless position again.
