True, but if the competition to the Audis in the ALMS/LMS had shown the reliability of Pescarolo this season, the R8 would have been beaten far more often in recent years.

Just think how many times Dyson, Creation and Zytek retired from the lead.

Plus, the 2006 R10 has a diesel performance advantage that will be realed back next season.

I was fortunate enough to be at´Jarama this weekend, is great to see these cars for the second time this year (after LM), and 20 minutes from home. Jarama is a pretty old track, but the layout, while old, is far more challenging than many modern tracks. Facilities are obsolete, though, and next year valencia or barcelona will host the race, i think.
Gounon speed until retirement was impressive, really, also the drive from the ASM guys (who hosted me so kindly), second overall.... If courage had a little more reliability this year will not have been a pescarolo walkover.

There's a twist to the results in GT2. The 97 GPC Ferrari has been disqualified after it was discovered that Fabrizio de Simone had spent more than four hours behind the wheel.

So, the race win in GT2 goes to the #81 Panoz (Hughes/Bell) who also take third overall in the championship. The #82 LNT Panoz is promoted to second in the championship which means they are the one's who get the Le Mans entry as runners up.

It's been quite a year for LNT and the reward is a two car attack on Le Mans next year. Not bad for their first year with the Panoz's. Congratulations to Lawrence and his team!

A great layout, but the track was not really capable of handling 40 cars at once. Our full reports can be found here:

WouterM: not related to the topic, but related to Jarama.

This man and this lyrics ->

Lookin' back on the track for a little green bag
Got to find just that kind or losin' my mind
Outta sight in the night, outta sight in the day
Lookin' back on the track, gonna do it my way
Outta sight in the night, outta sight in the day
Lookin' back on the track, gonna do it my way
Lookin' back
