Because Mercedes-Benz chose ART instead of HTP to run a DTM team HTP will switch to a different brand next season.

Wow, didn't see that coming. I don't think HTP are content with being a mere customer squad, so I could see them throwing in with Lexus or maybe Viper.
I also wonder what that means for their drivers... are the two Maxis under contract with the team or with AMG? |

That is a surprise, and a shame, they've been the most consistent challengers to Audi's basically factory GT3 program. I agree that Lexus seems the most likely move now.
If this is the reason for the split, it's odd: if HTP are not the closest thing to an official Mercedes GT3 team, then who is? Was rolling around at the back of the expensive DTM field really worth so much to them? |

If they wanted one, Black Falcon would be the most obvious choice surely? But would surprise me if they were desperate for a works team in their last year promoting the SLS.
Hope ART come back but that news would suggest to me that its unlikely. In which case, the same question can be asked for McLaren. Some big news coming on Monday apparently, but no idea what it's to do with. |

Could be a bit of a weaker pro field this year in BES then, as presumably that means no M-Sport and also no Mercedes. With ART potentially withdrawing too we might be down to just the VW brands able to fight for wins next year.

BMW Team Brasil has announced they'll do both Blancpain Sprint and Endurance Series this year with both cars.

About Maxis Buhk and Gotz, Autosport says Buhk is expected to stay with HTP in their transition to Bentley, nothing about Gotz is mentioned.
So maybe this means that Gotz is a Mercedes driver? (Especially as he's tested their DTM car again this week) |

The endurance rounds will only be available in a highlights package, so I'd think they'll continue to be streamed.

Me too, but I really like their works livery too. Great to see them step up to the Pro class, where I feel they belong. Hope they see fit to run a Pro-Am car too, but I can understand them making a few cuts to make budget for P1.
