Understand today that the Compact Cup will actually be support for TCR at Castle Combe 3 June, Oulton Park 15 July, and Donington 13 October.

Anyone else think this has gone a little quiet after a massive amount of initial interest?

certainly has. after all the over-hype and the supposed humongous amount of potential entries i confidently predict the grid will be very very poor.

the series will be not much more than just over expensive club racing

Wonder if the TCR/WTCC has anything to do with it? Doubt it has, but you never know

nothing to do with it. cost of doing that would be massively more expensive than UK. look at the 160,000 entry fee alone!

The point of the initial hype was to get teams and drivers thinking about TCR, which is exactly what has happened. You'll now get a period of lull whilst teams and drivers work behind closed doors to do the negotiations and try to find the budget.

Those running a two-car team will probably wait until both seats are filled before announcing anything.

Exactly.

It's hardly like the BTCC is awash with announcements at the moment. And this is a 100% new series, there will be an element of caution!
