I believe they will be more races with Viper than with Zonda this year.

"...the racing version of the C12, which will be powered by a six-litre BTD-tuned Mercedes V12."

What/who is BTD? I thought AMG was developing this motor.

BTD is the new engine tuner i guess , cause Mercedes (and AMG? ) dont want to support the Zonda project with their name.

I thought they were going to support it, because I thought that was one of Zondas big selling points, was that you could get the engine serviced at Mercadees Dealers......guess not.

Well, originally Mercedes didn't want AMG to tune the race motors. Then when they made the program public a month or so back, they said AMG *would* be tuning the motors. Now apparently they are not?

And who is BTD? I've never heard of that tuning company before.

As far as I know they are not going to support the Zona project.

Maybe Mercedes wants to keep the promise to stay away from LeMans after the CLR flipped '99. The return as an engine supplier might be against the opinion of a CLR-brandmarked Motorsport-Boss...
If this was the case, it would be a shame!

Somehow, it didn't stop them from entering in '00-'01 with Oreca, when they were running the MOPAR 6.0L V8 in both the Reynard 2KQ and Dallara chassis.

It always seems that most German manufacturers never want to supply any engines to independent opperators, unless they can be in-charge of the development process. Territorial, maybe, but that's the way I see it...

Let's be curious about a Zonda-V12 (will the exhaust configuration remain?) instead of moarning about Mercedes/Chrysler's absence...
