Thanks Tim....desperation called somewhat!
I did have one PM from a local (W.Sussex) chap, but I am in Sunny Suffolk, so..... I do actually have a good friend travelling down this afternoon who will be staying in Bognor, so it could still be possible for tickets to be picked up tonight if anyone is interested. Obviously offers are invited! Sorry for my long term lurking status, it takes me a while to actively contribute to a forum. I am as actively involved in VSCC as I can be under present circs, but do hope to travel in my 1930 Talbot to Montlhéry in May. Look out for me there... For all participants/spectators/officials....have a great weekend at Goodwood. |

Not sure how many (if any) tenthers apart from PM are on track at the event, so we will definitely need a report from Peter..... |

Mike as a biker may be you already know some Goodwood videos. I spent a good moment there: Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy Part 1 Full race revival 2016. Then go to 9:15 elapsed time or 16' remaining. Those gentlemen ( Brogan/Bain Norton) dont need any blue flag !

Going back to the Matra MS670 in the 3L Proto demo, I'm guessing it's the 1974 Beltoise / Jarier Le Mans car (3rd), but in short tail configuration.
I think the GpA Saloon demo should also be worth watching if the owners / drivers are allowed a bit of freedom..... |

If its a Hall&Hall 670 short tail may be it has the ugly wing above the nose too. But I guess those people have several. Short or long tail the screaming mermaid song remains the same (well almost).

I didn't hear if SNCF paid the fines! It looks to be a little damp at Goodwood but not as bad as here in Pas de Calais. Peter's Rover was briefly on pole before ending up sixth fastest. As usual the live streaming is very good. |

No John, didn't see that. Cant imagine a TGV pictures at more than 300 km/h!
Yes Peter and Tiff was briefly on pole when the track was still wet, showing that a carb is not a handicap in those conditions. As on usual a good Escort is the weapon in the right hands. The streaming is fantastic and they even answer the questions (sometimes rather stupid) through the living chat. |

The driver of the Brabham that hit the tyres at the chicane head on, Jim Blockley, is pretty pee'd off but otherwise OK. He was having a great race until that point. Another driver reports something coming off the car when he lost control so looks like something may have broken. Lucky man I think.

Peter must be in deep troubles with his Rover's engine. He was much slower in the straight than a Golf GTI. The flag man seems to play hide and seek with competitors nerves.

Not a good start to Sunday's racing with all those pretty little sports cars. A lot of damage and such a shame - fluid down from a couple of cars the cause, maybe? Paul and Richard Woolmer will be gutted, as, of course, will the others.

Amazing what you can achieve with a 70's rubber bumper midget.
