Post away with the engine pics- I at least will quite possibly learn something. Found out that 924 has same wheel pcd as Ford, so wondering if the 10" Minilites off Canary will fit under bodywork. The normal wheels 924 race series uses are Compo's, and as have only 4 will need to find out how much they are...... Luckily have managed to save quite a bit by reclaiming fibreglass bonnet that came off. Thought it would finish up in skip, but is now hinged, fitted and perfectly acceptable. I dropped one front wing off to reshape front corner and it is all looking quite tidy. The fibreglass front bumper that was fitted has been scrapped, but as car came with a used genuine Porsche unit have fitted that instead. It weighs a ton, but have cut away as much hidden material as possible.... New Sparco seat fitted without altering anything- must be a first- so just need to attach belts and steering wheel and interior done. Didn't realise originally but Momo wheel fitted is quick release. Will make driver changes easier as door bar difficult to get over! Now the front suspension beckons....... |

What cage have you got Mike? I've just offered up my new Rollcentre one and there seems to be plenty of room. Next job, someone's volunteered to weld the mounts, looks like quite a bit of work involved, it's not a brilliant fit..... Pleased to report non starting was only the fuel relay, it now sounds sweet as a nut. Having a bit of luck on the fuelling stakes, will report back when tested and safe. BTW, has your car got a standard sun roof panel or has someone shoved a piece of metal over the top? Getting conflicting reports as to whether standard unit's legal or not |

Glad you got starting sorted. Although injection is 'mechanical' the cold start electrics look a potential trouble spot. If you don't want to modify learn what bits do what and where they are! Think I need another rack as feels like pinion v slightly bent and has tight spots if adjusted correctly. Good old ebay |

You have had a good day Mike.Went to work this morning and did a little mod on the sump. Back home to fit then realise no sump set. Dip stick.Just spending some time setting up valve spring heights then at least the head will be ready to fit.

'conflicting reports' meaning too idle to check the BB after I told you it's OK - see 19.14.6 of 2010 BB and we are OK

Oh, and seeing as how his son, also a scrutineer, is sharing with me I'd look a right tit getting it wrong and being bunged out of the 360. So I want the definitive decision, in writing, not our interpretation! Last edited by midgetman; 28 Dec 2010 at 16:51. |

The reg is clear 'shatterproof material' - are there different types of fibreglass? is there any sort of fibre glass that shatters? Surely the matting does similar job to laminated glass IE holds it all together |

What about a piece of shatterproof aluminium sheeting. Pop riveted over the whole shebang? No pun intended

Apologies for not realising sunroof is fibreglass. Think that is still OK and imho the crucial bit is last sentence- 'Any sunroof must be firmly secured in the closed position'. May be worth asking one of the specialists that race Porsche. Pro-9 race a 944 as of course does 'Lancsbreaker'..... |

As to definitive vs interpretations, that's what's wrong with the sport when different people have different opinions you don't know where you are. Will report back as soon as I hear. Would rather not put a big ugly piece of metal right over the top of the lot the car's going to look bad enough anyway... |

Could it be that the entire objection to sun-roof installations was based on ensuring that there were no movable aero devices fitted to the car?

So that's 3 different measurements then! Assume you are on manual rather than pas?
Checking parts looks like track rod ends are same as Mk1 Golf and also bottom wishbones could be- but prices can be same if you look hard enough. Sorted the quick release steering wheel- there is an adaptor to allow fitting of normal Momo / Sparco wheel to the special boss- so can fit any wheel rather than flat 'single seater' type...... Esper, Child labour in UK declined when increasing girth made it difficult for them to get down chimneys...... |

Mike, yes the front wishbones are the same as Golf Mk 1, they're under thirty quid each on fleabay. I bought a pair of 924/Golf TREs for pence last month, building up a modest stock of spares.
Esper, is that where your Gedore spanner went? Sorry about the boring sun roof debate folks, but it makes a change from Escorts! |

we are willing to except that kind of work in the next few years but do bear in mind the child-labour hours have a low in company price but price to the market will be a sharp bit higher ( do remember we are.......dutch )
