And the lesson there is to go by the written regs only - verbal advice is OK to justify further investigation but must be backed up by something written down. The class record in G1 at Brands is set by a Mk1 Escort with twin carbs that was also ineligible, the driver was told verbally that he could run in G1 and the results were confirmed before anyone protested.

yea its ok in hindsight but i honestly took it as being ok that "marketed" could have meant sold direct from the manufacturer.not to worry.id have felt better about it if the guy who didnt wanna race with me had been decent enough to have had a word.be nice if we get a series for class e/f type cars going one day.driving with both eyes in the mirror 90% of the times not easy! ct is such a hotchpotch of cars its never going to be easy to sort.think id been spoiled by being in post historics for so long.the friendliest bunch of guys you could wish to know.at brands felt like id got lost and wound up in royston vasey!! good luck peter

I think it can Colin, as I understand it there was just no paperwork forthcoming to suggest that happened?

Of course Peter is strictly correct, it's the competitors reponsibility to prove eligibility with paperwork/homologation papers and the like, but I really do think the subsequent means of delivering that info to you was handled very badly. Apologies.

By the way, reading your mails suggests you think you were lynched by a single complainant and that wasn't the case I can assure you. Prior to my extended leave Nigel as CT rep had taken away an action to research the Rovers and the guys just acted on the info they had to hand. There's nothing more sinister than that.

Anyway, got to get moving now - loading up for the hike up north myself, and I'm not used to going without carpets and electricity I can assure you!

Same here - long haul up the M6 beckons. Forecast is sunshine and showers all day Saturday, might be interesting.
