Lars should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I'll go if you have an extra ticket? Just need a way to get down there...never mind I'll steal the Brady Bus (wife's mini van). Seriously, if you are staying towards the Orlando area...leave early, I-4 gets backed up pretty early. From what I've heard, if your north or south of Daytona...I-95 usually isn't bad at all. If your staying in Daytona...you must have some $$$...triple the price of rooms for the 500...lol.

Daytona 500

Yep, I'm going.
Leave on Thursday for the drive down.
Lars, sorry no tickets to let you have.

That's ok, the 500 isn't that hard of a ticket to get...just a bit pricy. Was down there last year for everything except the 500. Had to leave, otherwise I would have seen it.

Can't remember because I had to buy tix's for all 4 races down there...so it didn't matter. I paid $105 for Atlanta & $75 for New Hampshire...so there is a bit of a mark-up...but my NHIS & Chicago seats wouldn't have been considered the best seats to get.

The fact remains that the tickets are getting way too pricey for the average fan. It's not the average Joe fans who really LOVE racing that end up attending the races anymore. It's more like "pass the Grey Poupon" type of fans. NOT the true base of what NASCAR was built upon.

By the way, in case you didn't notice, I embedded a link to more of these cartoons in there. Just click on the cartoon I posted, and you'll be instantly whisked away to several years worth of Mike Smith NASCAR cartoons...

K....Rosie, just because pops is loaded with $$$...doesn't mean I am...LOL. When they price me out, since I spend my remaining assets on this sport I love so much...then there is a problem. And the NBA, NFL & MLB wonder why I don't go to games anymore? Go figure. Hopefully NASCAR never reaches that level but we all have to keep in mind that it costs more to run a race team than an NBA, NFL & MLB team if you exclude player salaries.
