with my corpulent frame I think not
I was just wondering for future reference I fancy being a team owner so if the cards ever fall right it would be a great place to start, give somethig back running a car to give people a leg up onto the ladder

In all the years I've been going to race meetings I've never even sat in a race car of any description...my little girl has been in loads though

You could be at the front in HFF cheaper - tyres last longer, but the cars are twice the price (although you are unlikely to loose any money). The downside though is that there is no chance of getting sponsorsip, as plastering your car with logos is not the done thing in HSCC!

I thought the HFF cars cost more as they are "classics" ?

JD tyres don't last any longer on some of the wide cars !! lol.

You also have to learn the art of steering with your right foot !!

Main advantage is if your any good you don't really need to test at all.

You would be suprised, I fit in mine fine (although I can't get into a reynard at all!). A 90 is pretty long, and pretty wide - Its just a case of making a seat!

You will have to try mine (car) for size at Mallory!

Yeah Kids sit in more cars than professionals do - its allways the way!

If you get an older FF Paul, I'll drive it for you as I doubt you could handle the Dawkins damage budget. You could leave it at my house too, handily just 10 miles away for when you want to check I havesn't sold it on.

Maybe he'd just want his car back in one piece!!

Only FF1600 is so bloody competitive I can't get a trophy anyway. It's a lot easier in Mono / 750MC / BARC etc. as my "trophy bookcase" testifies.

In fact the SOM seems to have 15 or 16 core runners and there are no tail-end charlies! You have to go under 50s so as not to be last...

The latest entry list for SoM on May 23rd at Mallory is 13. get the entries in if you haven't already.

john, you're correct regarding the lack of tail end charlies in the SoM. But then racing in such a competitive championship will assist many drivers in going quicker and quicker. 3 winners from three races, this one could see a fourth winner.

DONT FORGET AUGUST 8th MALLORY PARK, Edwina Overend Memorial Trophy race for FF1600 with a generously donated prizefund of over £2000, entry forms out soon. (2 x qualify sessions, fastest 14 go to final, slower 28 cars have a run off race for the last 14 places in the final. entry is £140!!!)

Been busy while I have been away these last couple of hours, hasn't it? I suspected Morrow and Kesters would be in there but I've stuck to the official list from BRSCC HQ.

As for the driver profiles - they will be on there eventually. Unfortunately I have been rather busy lately (I know my TT postings don't bear that out) and the priority is obviously the posting of news and race reports.

And on another point, Mallory May 23 clashes with a NW double-header at Anglesey while there is also a Southern race at Snetterton - that has eight entries at present.

I was gonna do Snett as well as Mallory but I think it'll be one race on the Sat and one day on the Sun which doesn't really fit in and I would also have to change the ratios twice (can't be arsed).

Just asked Steve of Burns if Snett FF1600 was on Saturday. If so, I would enter for fun and to boost numbers.
Seems it's now all on the Sunday so a straight choice between Mallory and Snett. Mallory it is then.

Another success for the "let's make it difficult for people to enter and race" department...

Hello Paul..I see from your website that you are going to Oulton on the 15th...come over to our mobile tea tent and introduce yourself. We may not be able to set you up as a team owner but at least we can shoehorn you into a car for a run round the paddock.

Ian,

Yes, Jamie will be racing. He's testing next Wednesday, to try out a new specialist Mallory engine and new gear box (if you remember he couldn't get 3rd last time out) + to work on gear ratios (which lack of data prevented him doing at the last test). Should be good. He's looking forward to the race.

How come you haven't got the ratios sorted yet? They are normaly pretty easy to decide on for mallory - spesh for a late car with LD200!

Easy they may be, but just to be sure, it makes sense to make any adjustments based on accurate data. I would have thought that was common sense.

Of course - thats what test days are for - take the guess work out! Just thought it was odd that Infiniti haven't got them right yet.

Different driving style through Gerards hence the need for his team to change the ratios
