bonnet pins

looking through the catalogues its interesting to see that you can buy "heavy duty stainless steel" chrome bonnet pins or "lightweight alloy" versions in blue, red or gold. but what if you want chrome colour lightweight alloys ones?

does anyone know the weight difference of the two ? or if lightweight alloy ones are available in chrome ?

thanks

Weight difference isn' that much, if I were at the office I could give it to you.
But your point is a valid one, why can't we have them in silver, green or ??? Must try and talk to my supplier.

Watch out for the pins that are just stick on pretend versions

Get the light ones, but make sure they are decent. I went cheap once and the pin hardly fitted in the slot! D'oh.

what about the new aerodynamic ones that both Team Dynamics and pat doran use?

they sit flush with the bonnet and dont hide any advertising

Oh by the way, if you have a quick release catches or pins, please don't be tempted to tie wrap them in place. As the bloke who broght his car into my post found out a few years ago, if somthing like a paper air filter catches on fire, it makes it blooming difficult for us to put the fire out
