Yoong Montoya should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Will British Superbikes end up going downt the tubes?

Given the way the world superbikes are going, will british superbikes end up going the same way due to lack of new machinery? Or will Honda create an SP-3 or something like that?

Honda can use the 4 cylinder Fireblade that Ten Kate are running in the WSB next year can't they? Seeing as all the major SBK championships were after common rules.

Honda Racing are staying in Britain to compete with Karl Harris in British Supersport. I'm hoping this can only mean a full-factory effort for British Superbikes in 2004!

I thought this years British championship was better and more exciting than the world series, so i hope it continues! Although with the current state of WSBK, perhaps it'll become more of a stepping stone into Moto GP, rather than WSBK.

Well Shaky's managed to get straight into MotoGP, which is a good sign. MonsterMob and Crescent Suzuki both look set to stay in Britain, which is a good sign. In the near future, I think BSBK's future is secure, even if we don't get many new bikes. Young riders like Harris, Sykes and Easton will be looking to impress, and the likes of Reynolds, Emmett and Rutter seem to have plenty of life left in them without interest in going to the World level regularly, so I expect a thrilling 2004 and beyond.

Local series like BSB, AMA and the Australian Superbikes are looking far stronger, and more stable, than the World Superbikes, which is being screwed by too many rule changes.

Nigel - Shakey is riding the Aprilia in Moto GP replacing Edwards who is going to Honda as Gibernau's team mate.
AFT - Honda are running the new Fireblades in BSB with Rutter (to be confirmed).

The Foggy deal was rumoured, but he got a better offer (to my surprise, I must admit) and, like Hodgson, will grace the world stage.

Shakey's in motgp eh? Good on him, lets hope they give him a more competitive bike next season. At last Honda have given Edwards the seat he deserves!!!! But will he be on the latest bike or will they do what they intended last year and give Sete a the newest bike and Edwards an older one!?! Are Honda gonna retain Plater???? He did great towards the end of last season (Cadwell park!), it'd be a shame to see him leave.

Plater was linked with a return to Yamaha, possibly partnering Gary Mason.

Don't really blame Shakey for not going to Foggy! I think he would have only gone to WSBK if he was on a bike capable of winning the championship. But I bet Paul Bird doesn't see much of an attraction in WSBK now!

not when he could run a ducati 03 against the new factory ducati which would be quicker still - he would only be replacing hm plant (for a possible podium).... why bother, stay in bsb and win races

If HM Plant return to Britian with two top riders, and Reynolds starts next season has he finished the last, and with 1 or 2 new riders on board, MonsterMob may struggle to win races regulary anyway

BSB is in way better shape than WSB. Why go to a series where you won't win unless you're on the full works Ducati

That was mostly down to Shakey tho! Reynolds, Kagayama and Plater were all pushing nthe Ducati's this year, there was a period when they won 5 or 6 on the trot so you don't need a Ducati to dominate. They were 1 - 2 at Rockingham and Mondello I think. Given alittle more development and the lack of Shakey in 2004 I don't think ducati will be as dominant.
