VAR’s owner’s son looking like stopping racing might be a big blow if he doesn’t want to keep funding other drivers as the other looks to have done.
Probably have Joey on low budget but what others? Others of those names don’t have the budget either, but hoping. |

During the Macau GP, I made several emails to the teams that may participate the Formula 3 races, all the teams rejected my wish except VAR, and I received the email from the boss of the team, that I am glad to have the chance even though I am a stranger like me, so I strongly believe Mr. vam Amersfoort is a kind man. I sent a email to them to thank their assistance, and they replied me that to enjoy the race as this is the final chance to do so. So I am worried if VAR will keep to race in 2018. |

I think regarding VAR it would be more fair if we wait and see what happens , rather than speculate .
I am sure they speak to potential drivers for the up coming season and it would not make good effect if these drivers read this forum |

VAR has one driver confirmed (at least) that requested a vote of silence to the team. When words get in the way, there's really only one thing left to do.

Good but has he really got the money this year? Or does he need another 80% subsidy? No Neweys or Piquets now to overpay to compensate?
Or maybe he will go to the Euroformula where he would have a 100x chance to win? |

As some of the friends and my own experience in Macau last November, I witnessed the commitment of every team members of VAR even though they faced a difficult season in 2017.
VAR provides chances to many talent drivers to achieve higher goals in their motorsport career, like Max and Leclerc will race in F1 this year, and Mick Schumacher, who raced for VAR in F4 for one season, also shows his talent in junior formula series. I would like to say, yes I am worry about VAR, but I also knew that VAR is a strong and united team among all competing teams in F3, maybe someone know Frits is a tough guy that overcomes a lot of difficulties over the years. So All of us have to wait and see how the situation progress it. |

A team member from VAR approaches me and would like to say they will race in 2018 FIA F3 Championship season, and the team is preparing for the coming season.

An extra car is a bonus, but Andres hardly set the timing screens alight last season did he........
Hopefully the fact VAR are still alive and kicking means 1 or 2 additional cars on the grid. Changing the subject, but any news of Mick Schumacher’s plans? |

A team member from VAR approaches me because of my previous post, he said they are not working with only one entrant for the coming season, so let's wait and see.

Big mistake to allow teams to run large teams. If kept to a maximum of 3 cars per team then other very good teams like Fortec, RR, T Sport , West Tec, Signature would probably still be in the series. This will kill F3 .

that may have been true in the past but now there’s gp3 as an alternative i think you’d see drivers doing that instead of going for a second or third choice. that’s my uneducated opinion anyway.

this thread has been discussed already recently ,I agree with Bella , if teams have been allowed to enter more than 4 cars it is because the teams you listed above were not able to attract drivers (for various reasons which they have to think of ... ) and restricting "Big teams" to "only 3 or 4 cars would have jeopardized the entire championship.

unless we're talking about the future use of f3 cars, in which case do we know anything about that beyond the end of the season?
