Rubio should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Surprising to see comments about non-working streams, everything worked fine, you just needed to visit the Facebook page.

2 points which extremely dissapoint me:
- Hyundai does have the competitive advantage over the others, which can easily bring down the title fight just to 2-3 people
- Marrakech circuit is a piece of s***. Impossible even to try an overtake. Miss the old layout.

Agree.
Little more kg for Hyundai will be perfect.
Beside Marrakech they will also race in Villa Real, that China street circuit and Macau. Too many street tracks.

Came in with a positive attitude towards WTCR, having never really watched the WTCC before.

I really like the TCR regulations and I really, really hope that their potential was masked by the awful Marrakech circuit. Was there a single overtake after the start?! Hopefully it'll be better at a proper circuit, but this first race was very disappointing.

As others have mentioned coverage was pitiful too - very few able to find official streams / footage anywhere.

Onwards and upwards, but for now I'll stick with the BTCC!

BOP was always wrong, Honda and Audi harshly penalised with Hyundai favoured...Hyundai made a really good job of their cars though that has to be said. However, you would have thought that after the stand out performances last season from Hyundai that somebody at the FIA could have seen this coming....

Actually, Wuhan circuit is very wide, so it should WAY better compared to this parody of a circuit.

Difficult to find any videos, there are several ones on the official CTCC site (first few videos in the list below)
http://www.ctcc.com.cn/en/videos.aspx

Macau and Vila Real are also difficult to overtake on but they are very spectacular and difficult so it's a pleasure just to watch cars run down the streets.

Agree, Hyundai should get a few kilos onboard.

I don't get the issues with the stream. I found it on Facebook with 4 different devices (TV, phone, tablet and laptop) and it was fine.

The stream on Oscaro's site was only available in certain regions, I think, so maybe the Facebook one was the same? A bit silly if so.

Congrats to Tarquini, the good old boys are still getting it done!

Streaming issues are quite strange, I hear that some people from the country could have seen the stream, some could have not.

Anyway, the race is available here:

Same in Poland, I though that merging TCR with WTCC meant that if it's streamed online it's done freely and globally as in TCR Intl, disappinted.

Shhh. You don't want Eurosport finding out so they can turn back on their 'Race 1 will be live'. Actually they said "Race 1 will be available live at OSCARO.com – the website of the WTCR’s Series Presenting Partner – in Belgium, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the USA."

It did let me watch the race and find all the overtakes. The last one was Oriola on Berthon at turn 3 (well the 2nd corner you brake for) on lap 1. Literally no overtaking otherwise!!!

It definitely was an appalling race, the track just isn't a race track.

The race, especially the start, was like what I'd imagine a morning commute during rushhour in Marrakech would look like. Carnage at the traffic light followed by a lengthy and boring queue. That "thing" just is not adequate as a racetrack...

Hyundai performance is disappointing.

OK, they'they've got 4 great drivers and the track might suit them better, but the gap to the others is really big.

Look at the other cars, they seem to be very even and FIA seem tto have mistaken with BOP for Hyundai

Tarquini on pole, Muller second, Michelisz third
Hyundai 1-2-3-4
18 cars in Q1 were covered in 1 second, BUT I still thinks that Hyundai need bigger BOP, and I know Alfa's bad at twisty tracks, but still...

After the qualifying it becomes blatantly obvious that Hyundais BOP is completely whack. Thank god they have 4 top drivers and two rivalling teams and no alibi backmarkers. Having all 4 drivers dominating Marrakech is better then 2 upfront with two weaker drivers outside the top ten to "prove" how equal all cars are. They will not go unchanged into the next round. Otherwise the FIA will make a mockery of this series right at the start.

Honda, VW, Seat and Audi seem to be close enough right now.

And, please, could we please start racing at proper circuits...? This years calendar is the worst part of the championship.

Marrakech, Vila Real, Nordschleife, Macao and maybe Wuhan are NOT optimal tracks for touringcar racing. That makes 5 out of 10 (!) venues. Overtaking at Zandvoort is also very hard. I mean Macao is a must venue, but we could also race in Portimao, Nürburgring GP and virtually every other f*ing parking lot in Marokko and have a more appropiate calendar.

I said in the WTCR section that the bop of the Hyundais seemed too light. However great performance by Tarquini!

Marrakech is an absolutely terrible track. I would prefer something more classic for touring car, two chinese rounds make no sense at all...money rules
