The field was never announced right after the closing date, so there can actually be new entries (they should release it somewhere in two weeks time). An entry from a team may have been submitted but they probably still seek a driver with budget so they can't announce it.

Although, to be honest I also expect a small grid.

Go to see Volvo sign Catsburg, their team really has a strong lineup and can see them challenging from the title from the off. Good luck to them, Volvo love their racing

Prefer to see them in Supercars...

And with Supercars switching to new engine rules, Holden switching to Insignia based car, Ford also switching to Mustang or something else I hope WTCC switches to Supercars rules.

I prefer them making a car that looks like an Alfa rather than a generic business saloon with an Alfa grille...

That could possibly happen... if the championship could ever survive to the 2017 season, that happears to be a great delusion.

Its such a shame the WTCC isn't going in the same direction as the BTCC... manufacturers entering rather than leaving, over 30 drivers making up one of the most competitive line-ups ever seen in the series.

Hopefully this season will see some great racing nethertheless and see a return to better times within a few years - remember every motorsport has periods of ups and downs.

Although I agree WTCC should have adopted NGTC rules you can't compare an international series with a national series.

Sometimes a series just needs to die to make room for a fresh start. WTCC Mk.2 has had a pretty good run, but right now it has reached the point where it's just a shadow of its former self, with the last decent season lying over half a decade in the past.
