Will Hoy's Securicor E30 M3

I've been trying to trace this car, without success.

There was one driven at Donington by Ed Hoy about 4/5 years ago in a demonstration. It may have been a lookalike, but it would do.

Does anyone know who owned it, or better still the original, if indeed there are two?

Any help gratefully received.

Can't help you locating but the one demo'd at Donington was a modern replica. Hoy's original car went to Matt Neal who later crashed it.

Redshoes is correct, the car was sold to Spec-Fab who ran the car for Matt Neal in the '92 BTCC,the car last appeared at Donington(round11) where it was damaged in a crash.Neal did the final race at Silverstone and the Toca Shoot Out in a 318is Coupe. The car was for sale in Autosport(5/11/92 for £36,000 as a rolling chassis and later at £39,500 for a complete car.Unusually I have no record of what then became of it and I would love to know!Ian.

Thanks Ian and Redshoes.
Was anyone at Donington for the parade which I am guessing might have been the World Cup(?) thing where current and retired Touring car Drivers appeared?

It was the last round of the 2004 BTCC where they also ran the BTCC Masters - ex-champions and big names from the previous 10 years competing in SEATs.

Don has the car, but it is now totally white
Thanks all.

If you find out where the original car went, I'd also be pleased to hear.

Hi guys, I'm new to your forum.
I live in South Africa and belong to a forum dedicated to e30's.
We have heard about this m3 and have also not been able to trace it,
I beleive the last anybody heard about the car it was some where in Durban.

Philbarnett should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I am hoping someone may be able to help me out with the history of my m3. Recently found out that it was owned by securicor omega express and was painted blue and black like the will hoy car. It also had the registration number A1 SOE. Omega kept the car for 2 years and it was sold and they transferred the number onto a Toyota carina which so happened to be the car that will hoy drove in touring cars. The car still has done light blue paint on the inside of the door.

Can anyone remember securicor having a show/press car? I don't think my car was raced as it is a standard car now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Phil

Funny how these cars are coming back to life.A very good friend managed to buy an E30 racer about four years ago.
Took it to one of the works car specialists over here for a general check over and strip and repaint.Turned out to be one of the factory cars that was won by someone who regularly: raced similar E30 cars.
the price of €16000 was quite fair I think

Helluva buy Terence, even then. Almost stratospheric prices now, but they were always a bit special and now highly desirable.
