SuperturboAnge should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Is Nigel trying to save the world!

Is it just me or has Nigel Mansell's name been cropping up a lot this year?

First the Regent street parade, then the Silverstone polava and now he's trying to help Jaguar out.

Kirk has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Yes, maybe he and Prost have a side bet or something. They both have received plenty of ink lately, more it seems, than in all their years since they retired from F1. I think that they both want to be actively involved in some capacity. You have to admire their passion, I suppose.

Brand Synergy, the saviour of everything or the saviour of nothing?

I get the impression that the involvement from Our Nige' is minimal in most of its dealings. Just a 'name'? Although what for, what is it trying to do?

Are Brand Synergy related to the guys who entered F3000 with very bold statements and intentions, before quitting after one race? Is Martin Kendrick involved in this as well?

This seems pretty unfair. Nigel remortgaged his house to keep his career on track, suffered 3 seperate spinal injuries and all manner of other accidents, he had frustrations, heartbreaks and disappointments, he regulated his entire lifestyle for 15 years, all to puruse his ambitions in F1. he owes the sport nothing.

An odd concept, IMHO. He gave when in it, he took when in it. He was employed to drive a car and did so. I don't see why he needs to do anymore (whatever that may be). Does he need to do more, because we demand it?

There is no rule or moral obligation for any ex-F1 person to waste any of their money or time on the sport. Nor should there be.

IMO he's showing his undying love for the sport in trying to keep Silverstone afloat, his name being linked in a buy-out of Jaguar etc. I hope he does get involved in the sport again in some way. Sure would add a bit more personality to the sport - Our Nige was always good for a quote and a moan.

I think someone has got him to front a load of money that no-one seems to want...if he can't get Jaguar maybe they'll aim lower and try Minardi.

I wonder if he would have any direct involvement in the running of Silverstone or Jaguar/Minardi/whichever team they buy? He probably is just an easily-marketable figurehead. But I'd agree that he's done a lot for motor racing over the years adn shuldn't be expected to give anything back

I hope it works out and then as a nation we can get behind them - the best of British! Jaguar was never marketed - full stop. It should have been "sold" to the nation as is the Ferrari around Italy (and the world!).

The is a little off topic, but I thought marketing was the very problem. The whole project was about marketing not racing. The whole marketing concept was misguided as Jaguar didn't belong in F1. The specific marketing was misguided: 2000 year of the cat! Diamonds in the nose, all celebrities and film premiers. Hmmmm.

As for Nigel. What is his exact involvement in all this? I get the impression it is very little (and I don't blame him).

Isn't that the same with most previous F1 drivers? Or would you like to see him (possibly) fail as Prost did when it came to running a team?

That is the only fair way. Afterall what good is a successful person if we can't see them become unsuccessful This seems to be what our culture is based on.
