I'm off to Italy for a few days. Perhaps someone else should have a go.

OK. Who started a long racing career first in autocross driving a supercharged Thames van, and then a Healey Silverstone in circuit racing ?

Tony Lanfranchi raced a Thames Van but I'm not sure about the Healey. One of his first cars was an Elva which he saw at the racing car show one day, couldn't afford it so he went to the casino that night and the next day went back to the show and paid cash for it!!

Quite right GBRM, of all people to answer that question it had to be one of your old man's "muckers" I thought that might just run for a while.
And Peter funnily I did have a twin cam Anglia van in the 60s and I used to drive it round Brands on open practice days !
Fire away GBRM .

Sorry to be a party-pooper Gordon, I just remember seeing a picture of it up on two wheels and I couldn't beleive it was racing!!

Oh no, I have to ask a question, um, okay, in UK racing what was significant about an event held on the 9th September 1972?
