I don't think any B23 from new was built with a DFV, do you mean one was modified later to accept one ? From memory the only Chevron sportsracer made from new to accept a 'big' engine was the John Woolfe B12 Repco.

The odd B26, B31 & B36 got DFVs put in them later in their lives, for Thundersports etc., but the only Chevron built to take a DFV (actually a DFL but near enough) was the B62 Group C2 car in 1985.

The earliest DFV-engined "upgrade" was probably the B31 used by Martin Raymond / John Blanckley in the 1976 Sportscar champ.

Mauro Nesti had a DFV powered B?? (sorry, don't remember the type), 1975-76, and Manrico Zanuso raced, together with a Briton (Blankey?), a DFV powered Chevron sportscar (Monza 1976)

Zanuso's car was the one I was thinking of. That was Blanckley's car, which Raymond shared at Monza.

My data has Nesti in a B31 - DFV at Monza in 1977, but he & Tondelli shared a FVC powered B31 in 1975, I believe

Oddly enough, I have recently acquired some back issues of Motoring News from 1974, and not ten minutes ago was reading the report of the Imola 1,000kms, which included the following:

"Eris Tondelli, the Italian Chevron agent, again didn't get his new Chevron-DFV to the race, reporting that a front end lift problem has had to be overcome, but he hopes to run it in the Targe Florio this coming weekend."

In the results of the 1974 Targa, Tondelli is listed as driving a Chevron B26-Ford but I don't know whether it was a DFV or not...perhaps someone else can add to this? The website I've found the results on (wsrp) says that Tondelli's car was in the S1.3 category, which implies a small engine.

Hi Driftwood don't know if you know were this car is now, I owned it and ran it in a 9 hour with a rotary Mazda 13 B, sold to Fred Goddard, now has a DFV fitted, and this was the only one built by Chevron with a DFV.
I Have some photos, if you send me your email I will foward them.as have no idea how to attach them to this mail.
