It said live streaming, so I guess they'll show it live on the ITV website and show highlights on the same day on ITV4.

Where does it say WTCC coverage will be live?

I think that is referring to the live streaming that is already available from Eurosport.

the Eurosport Live Streams of WTCC are only available from their Southern European channels e.g. Eurosport France, Eurosport Germany etc.

UK's Eurosport live streams have never worked for WTCC apart from straight from the Official WTCC Website.

Ok then, it refers to the live stream available from the WTCC website (which is provided by Eurosport)

Having seen and read the press release now:
Quote:
- Important improvements in the TV distribution have been achieved in three key countries: United Kingdom (ITV4), Russia (TV Center) and Japan (free to air network TXN, which includes TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido and TV Kyushu).
- WTCC also benefits from new live coverage on AYM (Mexico), ART (Middle East) and TV Paprika (Slovenja).
Note that the ITV4 is not listed in the live coverage section

the sniper has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
ITV4 have shown highlights from the past two rounds, they were just the same review shows from Eurosport, with Martin Haven commentary. So what's new?

I just hope Charlie Webster won't be presenting...

Man, that WTCC press release is full of misinformation;

"The World Touring Car Championship has announced an improved television coverage package, which includes terrestrial coverage in the UK.

Umm...since when has ITV4 been a terrestrial channel?

"The series this year has only previously been available on satellite television in Britain, but promoter, and satellite channel, Eurosport have agreed a deal for the digital channel ITV4 to broadcast coverage of the 2008 championship races."

And that's still the same as it has been all year. It's still satellite/digital (ITV4) and its still the 30 minute highlights a week later.

So where is this "improved television coverage" in Britain??
It's exactly what it has been all year!

Someone needs their backside kicked for putting out misleading information like that.

Ever since you could receive it via an aerial. It is a terrestrial channel, albeit a digital one.

Agree with the rest of your post though.

Digital terrestrial. Practically anyone who doesn't live in an area inhabited by inbreds can get it.

So you're another one who believes the hype that digital is available to all but the furthest flung reaches of the empire. Don't get me started

Digital Terrestrial covers 81% of the population at the moment, and will rise to 98% in 4 years.

Maybe they've just realised that after a seven week break, they need to do something to remind people the championship still exists.

You mean the nice looking chick who presents the GP2 coverage?

I don't care as long as James Allen doesn't come near it!
