Very good units IMO. Slightly off beat exhaust note, and being a 'flat' engine they sit low in the car, helping to lower the centre of gravity and thus improve handling.

In terms of output, I guess they're pretty similar to in-line and V formations.

The 3.0 flat 6 in mine could use a little more low end torque - something they've improved a little in the 2007 car. However it is plenty punchy enough in the mid-range, which is where you want the poke in a refined car like this - its character doesn't really suit being thrashed to 7k+ revs (though it has a lovely muted 911 bark when you get up there!).

'98 Vauxhall Omega 2.0 CDX

150k on the clock. Dodgy Power steering pump. But everything else is near showroom condition. Started first turn of key this AM at -2 degrees C. Quite chuffed to get it for £900.

After a £3600 VW Passat TDI that seemed to get a new fault every Tuesday, It's pure luxury. The entire Climate Control System packed in 18months ago, the last few weeks of actually having a heater and windscreen demister have been wonderful. It would have cost me the £900 I spent on the Omega, to just fix the heating on the VW, so far I think I made the better choice

With the 6 speed manual, sport suspension and 18" alloys it feels an entirely different car. Quite a bit quicker (there was alot of inertia in that auto), and more planted through the bends (but still a smooth ride).

And in black, with those alloys and black leather inside it looks stunning. Makes the old one (17" alloys, silver/ivory leather) look decidedly boring!
looks real good!

Have a 1987 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II. It's in my avatar. It's putting out ~240hp and weighs ~2600lbs, I'm making a reasonable estimate compared to when it was dynoed @ 215-220hp. It works great except when the idiot owner decides to do something to it. Soon it will have a Megasquirt doing the EFI duty. It's a surprisingly powerful open source DIY ECU.

I should probably update what I have seeing as I updated my car last year to a Golf V GTI. Dark blue, manual. Wish I'd gotten the xenon lights, though, as the normal ones are terrible (or maybe it's just my car ).

I drive a beaten 1998 Vauxhall Omega MV6 Estate. 195K miles on the clock, one head gasket is on the way out, runs on LPG, I treat it like a shed, but it starts runs goes, and has Xenon lights so I can see where I'm going in these lovely warm winter days/evenings!!!!

Otherwise, I use my Merc Sprinter 312 Van.

Family car is an 06 FIAT Multipla JTD. Great car, very versatile. Is our 3rd one. Not as good looking with the new nose though. No problems to date (7k miles).

Commuting car is a 99 Citroen Xantia HDi 90bhp - picked it up cheap and gets around 50mpg. Also no problems so far.

But hey, it's free thanks to work. I need a promotion to get myself something a bit quicker!

I think you will find that in your case the word is ride. As with horses you ride dogs.

Oh, nice bike BTW.

When I read that my initial thought was "oh no, that'll be far too low", but it actually looks really good. The blue colour gives it an air of the 16v and Williams models.

Changed over the work wagon last week, new one is a Jan 07 dedicated lpg one. 115L usable tank capacity, and the spare wheel goes into the back meaning there is only just over 1200L boot space with the rear seat up!

i drive an electric blue peugeot 106 1.1, 35,000 miles on the clock it gets me from A-B and actually it is quite comfy and has decent handling for a shopping car.

the colour is exactly the same as the creation CA06H LMP1 car from last year which is good i think lol

I'm currently carless but since I've just turned 18, I'll be inheriting my brother-in-law's red 1999 Fiat Seicento Sporting. The problem with this is that my 60 year old Dad has a yellow 1999 Fiat Seicento Sporting. Difference is mine has a CD player, is slightly newer and has power sterring. Plus, at 1.1 litres insurance shouldn't be too bad either.
