Minicross424 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
So where do we think this leaves Plato?
Could issues be resolved between Warren and him?
I can't see him going to MG, maybe Speedworks?

I can't see him winning another championship to be honest.
I would of thought a final run this year would be fitting a bit like the Nascar boys do.

As mentioned a few posts back, he's on the Adrian Flux stand with the Subaru on Saturday and Sunday of ASI.

Plato was instrumental in bringing Subaru to BTCC and also has strong personal sponsorship links with Adrian Flux Insurance, so it isn't a surprise to see him on that stand. It would be more of a surprise if he warmly embraced Warren Scott.

As for the future of 888 I think Warren will run 2 Subaru's as Team BMR and split 2 off to be run as 888. He will give 888 two TBL's to replace the ones sold with the MG's, as it will cost him nothing to do that. It will be the same team but the only difference being on the entry list.

So, stock take so far, in no particular order, either 100% confirmed as of today (11th Jan), or all but announced, like Dynamics etc. Still plenty of room for surprises before Media Day.

Amongst the twaddle I've heard today (including JP to announce his retirement - I'm sure he'll do that when he has had the lid screwed down on his casket) is the 2 x BMR and 2 x 888 entries. However if Shaun H is running the Audis and MGs as AmD then that would suggest a softening in attitude to 4 cars 1 team, so why would Warren want to
dilute the BMR brand to 2 cars?

Could the 888 name show up independently of Warrens farm/ AmD? It is a well established - if tarnished and in need if a good polish - name after all. When do TOCA publish the TBL list - is that mefia day?

888 as a company is owned by Warren Scott, so I doubt it would show up independently, as WS would need to sell it and lets be honest, who would buy a team with no TBL's and is a shadow of its former self.

Team HARD were I believe were turned down last year for a 4th TBL. I think Alan Gow would rather have teams fielding 2 cars than superteams entering 4 cars. My reasoning being that it is easier to fill a gap on the grid created by a 2 car team leaving the series than if a superteam dissapeared from the BTCC and took 3 or 4 cars with them.

Team Hard are splitting their cars between themselves and Brisky Racing, possibly getting around any issues with the 4th TBL, "but Mr Gow it isn't my TBL it belongs to Brisky"

Perhaps because it's not 4 cars of the same variety. Maybe that means toca are more lenient towards the idea.

Indeed Mark, lots of ifs: Tony Gilham was dissuaded from 4 cars 1 team last year, the AmD announcement seems to muddy that though... maybe they will be branded as Team X but run by AmD, which is effectively how the Maximum Focus was last year (by Parker).

As for 888 ownership, maybe it could/has changed hands? Me speculating, no sign of any concrete!

I could buy into that. 888 Plato Racing; a ride for now, in control of his own destiny and he then has a hand in for running young talent if and when he does stop peddling.

Good idea but a spanner in the plan, what assets do 888 have? No TBLs they went with the cars. No equipment, they went with Lee Mowle. No premises or staff, thats Warren’s, what is 888 beyond a name?

Theory, AMD run the MGs to help Ian Harrison honour the 3 year contract signed in 2015. Once done, that aspect is wound up leaving shaun with 4 TBLs , good position financially?

Whilst Harrison was in charge when the contract with MG was established, he no longer has any connection to the contract having had his positions terminated with 888.

The legal entity that is 888 would be the party that MG would hold liable.

So what I am getting at is that if Amd are in this to help anyone - the Scotts are the beneficiaries.
In reality, it is more of a case that Amd are purely interested in the long term benefits of holding the TBLs.

I wonder how Gow views the situation though - as part of the reason behind TBLs was to force teams into long term commitment to the BTCC, not for them to be a commodity that changed hands regularly.

The 2 TBLs belong to Mowle and Harrison. AMD are just running the cars on their behalf. Wouldn't be surprised if they tried to sell the TBL at the end of the year.

Smart move by Mowle and Harrison to specifically list the TBLs on the debenture. Without those the cars themselves would be relatively worthless.
