Audi S1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2010 BTRDA Champs

With the season not that far away Round 1 March 6th, just thought i would start a thread and see who plans to compete in the btrda champs this year...?

Modified driver who should be there:
Paul Coney, Sean McCadden, Steve Rattue (MG ZR), Tine Pinder, Shelley Wakeling, Dave Baines, Peter Hallow, Stuart Emery, Wade (Mini), Toby Crocker (Honda), Bruce Bamber, Ray Morgan, Vince Bristow, John Mooney (New Astra), James Smith, Dave Ewin, Woloch, Kris Hudson,

Stockhatch drivers who should be there:
Darren Clarke, John Rook, Dave Pearson, Dave Martin, Paul Smith, Richard Horton, Adam Clarke, James Coney, Stuart Jackson, Craig Truelove,

Then there are classes for Minicross, Revivals and Juniors which i'm sure are going to pick up some good numbers...!, Especially if the KA is confirmed as a new Junior car to run alongside the Mini.

Lets hope good competitive entry fee's are announced and the tv coverage given in 2009 continues under the extended 2 hour programmes!

Feel free to amend, change, add or thoughts.........

Stu and about ten of the other drivers named by Audi S1 have already committed to the OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP.
Go on the ROC website and take a look at the Driver News section.

I never once said that they hadn't commited to other championships.

All i was asking was who was planning on doing some/all BTRDA rounds....

Sometimes "committed" can be perceived as "past tense" roll on March 6th at Lydden. In the current climate and recent decisions peoples thoughts can change, just look at the MDA/BTRDA link up, RX150's, Revivals, Minicross, New Mini all coming under the BRC/BTRDA/BRDA banner.

In my past experience this is not a good thread to get intangled in!!!
Like what has been said "lets wait and see" and analyse!! the season lets say November!!
As you say recent decisions do matter but all i can say is some have short memories and see it all comes flooding back by mid season
Have no favourite these days but come on lets not get on the "our championship is better than yours"
When 1 has either joined the other or beeten the other in to the ground and given up, then be smug!!!!!!!!!! To then get working to make "the drivers" come out of their garages and race!

MODS PLEASE CLOSE THIS THREAD

Providing everyone remains sensible and doesn't get into "mine's better than yours" stuff then there's no reason to close a valid thread, asking who is competing in the BTRDA seems a fair enough question and I really don't believe there was any intent to start another inter series handbagging session. We'll see how it goes

Anyway, the Mk2 may well be at Lydden for the first BTRDA round (last round of the winter series).

It will be interesting to see if/how the landscape of rallycross changes this year. BTRDA have an attractive package and I'm sure the ROC will survive and thrive if the TV package that is being talked about is a done deal.

How much championship loyalty is there really? Quite a number of clubmen seem only do the events that are closest.

Very true - and perfectly reasonable. Circuit racing has a lot of regional championships but rallycross is all national if you want to do a complete championship. If all the rallycross championships visit your local circuit(s) then you can get in a good number of events without travelling too far.

Great News to see the Ford KA approved by the MSA for the Junior class within British Rallycross Championship and BTRDA champs.

Should certainly help raise the profile of the class, provide some good racing and a welcome boast to numbers!

Any committed drivers yet?

Plenty more of this during 2010....

Great 2009 BTRDA clips and video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWD1cOAImS4

Plenty more of that kind of tv coverage during 2010 as part of the BRC package.

With 7 of the 9 rounds covered on Motors TV and at least 2 of them LIVE!, including the midnight night race at Blyton.

So who's committing to the championship starting at Lydden on March 6th?

I've stuck my entry in for Lydden. Really looking forward to it, although I suppose I should put the car back together before I turn up or I'll be sat on the start line with just a steering wheel in my hand and a number board strapped to my back.

Mind you, I'd might still not come last...!

It's not too long now is it - when is the closing date for entries? Can we expect a "here's what we have so far" list before then?

Also, any news on the track - there was a track day over the weekend, is the rallycross track good to go?!

See you down there Dave.

Just a week to go and I thought I would shamelessly bump this topic up...

Any news in relation to entries etc (or more importantly, is this def going ahead?!) First fix of 2010 - cannot wait! Hoping to see a few supercars out to shake down too.
