Ferrari '655' Will Follow Williams?

Jean Todt has revealed that the 2004 car will follow Williams' example by featuring an innovative nose section. The new car will carry the designation 655.

Bu the way, Jean Todt calls the car "the 655" in the interview.

Its mean the new contender will named 655, not F2004? Any opinion?

All old news I'm afraid

As for 655, I have no idea. I guess all will be revealed at the launch

Check out this:

http://www.f1-legend.com/histoire/vo...rrari641.shtml

The Ferrari called the car in 1990 as 641. So, its posible the 2004's car as 655 (641+14=655, 1990+14=2004).

Well, if that's the case then squalo makes sense, given that it means
shark. Maybe we will see a shark nose?

655 is the internal Ferrari Project code. The F2003GA would have been known internally as the 654, the F2002 was the 653 etc. The "public" names for the Ferraris seem to change. In the late eighties / early 90's when Mansell drove for them the Ferraris were called by their project code, at the time 640, 641. In the late 90's they went through a phase of calling the F300 and F301 and more recently they have been called F2002, F2003-GA. Don't know why they change it but the 655 is certainly the Ferrari project code for this years car.

"The new Ferrari wil definitely not carry the name ‘655’. That’s has been officialy confirmed to F1Racing.net by a spokesman of the Scuderia. For the new name we’ll have to wait until the launch next Monday."

So F2004-GA ??

I guess just F2004, Gianni Agnelli already has one named after him so that's enough.
