bf1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

I see from today's Autosport that Mazda have come out and said that the story is a load of rubbish, and the only motorsport active currently being used in the UK is Formula Woman......
So whoever started this thread obviously doesn't have maybe the best sources then.Although maybe it still could be a privateer effort as Mazda UK have said that it ain't them..

Why would Motorsport News go print something like that if they hadn't asked Mazda in the first place? but then again it still could be a privateer effort..

KA has a real shot at the podium!KA has a real shot at the podium!KA has a real shot at the podium!KA has a real shot at the podium!KA has a real shot at the podium!
...and since when has someone denying something guaranteed that it's not true?

This one could mean anything from MN printing a story that had little basis in fact, as kmchow suggested, to Mazda not being willing to admit the existence of their plans yet, or simply that they've taken a serious look at doing the BTCC (and MN have picked up on this and printed the story) and decided against

I guess we'll have to wait and see

Look at it another way. WSR have no doubt developed BTCC proposals for several manufacturers without actually being asked first. That's a fairly common practice, and from memory the same way the Arena/Honda link started.

One of those manufacturers WSR approach is Mazda, hence story 1 - "WSR have been in discussions with Mazda to run the team"

Mazda says thanks but no thanks, hence story 2 - "Mazda say they have no plans..."

Neither story is actually made up, they're just a different way of spinning a story.

Kmchow, I would never had put MN down as a tabloid.

I think Redshoes explaination is the most logical.
