True but an E fest frankly wasn't it? Lovely cars but now getting too much like the TT except they don't even have the Cobras to race against (except poor old Martin Hunt). Too much SC and an early finish. Very disappointing.

Yes, seems early 'E's are flavour of the month nowadays. And maybe SWBs and DB4GTs not being 'improved'? Early spec Cobras thin on the ground, unfortunately.... Agree about SC, not helped by leader expiring just after having been picked up!

One of the wetter days I've had at motorsport but great entertainment.
Thankfully after the huge downpour late afternoon the rain didn't return and they managed to run the Kinrara trophy. The grass banking and the car park fields were in a bit of a state after all the rain and traffic today. Most of the crowd had left during the afternoon so it was an easy drive out of the car parks after the last race. |

Sadly, smaller capacity GT / sports missing this year. No Fordwater race, which was the one that has previously hosted the smaller stuff, including that excellent Special Bodied 'A' Series powered race several years ago.
It suddenly dawned on me after struggling to watch the Kinrara on a tablet while multi-tasking, that my telly has youtube....... |

So the Nash can lap field in Brooklands trophy
Obviously should be handicap race ! Pity about choice of cars. My monies on Alfa coming through. Staying awake will be biggest problem The Talbots were /are awful . Same cars should be eight seconds a lap quicker. |

The Midgies are at a wet Clay Pigeon, nowhere near as glamorous as Zolder. Will keep an eye on the feed as much as possible

None of the normal Talbot 105 race cars were asked to the party
You have a pedistrian rally car 105 and an awfully prepared Talbot 90 Many decent cars that would put on a show missing The problem is that if Patch does not orchestrate a decent exhibition the Pre War sports car racers will lose the Brooklands trophy through no fault of their own dispite their race being one of best at Silverstone Festival. Such is life at Goodwood. |

It's all about the show.... see GB has got a couple of drives, regardless!
Just got home and caught the end of the madgwick. Couple of Morgan racers featuring- Billy B in the Lola Mk1 and Dion Kremer in his Louts 17. Both having big moments....... |

He has them Mike but character forming excessive!
The Keift is turning out to be potentially a nice car and Alta could be developed. |

As john probably knows I asked Gareth to drive the car as I conspired to fracture my hip two weeks ago. He had never sat in the car before but qualified 9th in the wet. We are slowly getting to grips with the car and although it is still short on power compared to the 250F's it has great handling and in the wet is very competitive. I am looking forward to seeing how it goes in the race tomorrow
John i played at Western gailes last year when it was blowing a gale so spent most of the day losing balls......hope you fare better Nigel B |
