They must have given him that penalty after I stopped watching.

it was after the finish of the race, he was probably warned but we did not hear that radio traffic.

Heard the warning for Alonso during the race - not sure whether he transgressed again....presumably so.

Whilst congratulating Perez on a gutsy race, feel for Bottas who was bundled out of a probable 3rd by a very optimistic lunge by Kimi. The penalty for Kimi doesn't really help Bottas.........

A good recovery drive by Verstappen after his first lap puncture in the incident.

Elsewhere - what lap will the McLaren Honda blow-up on? I reckon lap 18. [/QUOTE]

Good job you didn't put money on it. First double points score of the year (thanks to other's misfortunes...)

...Ah, hang on. Just heard about Ferdy's penalty.

Just loved the DC/JB rallycross session from the dreaded Lydden, on Beeb One. One imagines that might indeed influence Jense's plans for 2017...

Actually I thought this was one of Max's worst performances of the year, he spent the entire race at the back, passed no one and finished at the back, with the exception of Alonso getting a post race penalty.

Probably car damage but who knows how much that affected his performance.

I bet Seb/Ferrari wish they didn't cruise to 2nd seeing that Lewis might have been struggling at the end. If they'd pushed from the minute they got in 2nd, they probably would have caught him.

the damage caused the tires to wear faster, and he did overtake Alonso once(and of course Mehri and Stevens), but after his 2nd pitstop he was behind Alonso again and had to close a gap.

I was just thinking, what with Vettel now 2nd in the WDC; once Lewis wins it(it's pretty much his); will he help out Nico to claim the 2nd spot in the WDC over Vettel? I think Mercedes probably want a 1 and 2 in the WDC. It'll be interesting for sure.

That's an interesting thought. Although I'm no fan of either Vettel or Ferrari, I hope not. If Rosberg is going to get second in the championship, he has to earn it. Being gifted some points by a charitable teammate would make it a hollow achievement.

From a marketing point of view it would look very good for Mercedes, especially if they do this two years in a row.
