NASCAR to the Gold Coast!?

Seems that the Good Ol' boys and girls from 'Murica are planning to come back to the Gold Coast but instead of returning with the IndyCar series, they'll be bringing the NASCAR series along.

Shall be interesting to watch and would be cool to see the American arms of Walkinshaw-Andretti-United and DJR-Team Penske to see their cars run around.

Are any of the old Aussie-built NASCARs still sitting in sheds somewhere?

Probably. But I find it unlikely they'll be allowed to be used due to the drastically different specs.

The much higher-revving and more powerful NASCAR V8 sure does sound wild around the streets of Surfer's: https://www.supercars.com/videos/cha...h/?cat=default

Dick Johnson must also be fondly remembering his own statewide NASCAR adventures back in the day:

Boogity indeed!

Sounds good, but man that was slow. Really drives home the need for the car changes I harped on in the "How Would You Change NASCAR" thread. NASCAR stock cars really really need to shed some weight and lower their center of gravity.

He stills receives a small royalty payment for appearing (well his car at least) in Days of Thunder.
