Asa should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2014 Macau GT Cup

Darryl O'Young unveiled the livery of his Aston Martin to be raced in the upcoming Macau GT Cup yesterday. His car has sponsorship from VLT, which stands for Vitasoy Lemon Tea, a popular drink in Hong Kong.

I just wish they had made this a longer race, something an hour long or more, not just a 12 lap sprint.

12 laps of which half are usually spent behind a safety car. Can't help but agree with you, this would be great with a driver swap.

Looking forward to it still; what time/date is it this year?

16 November Sunday.

I don't care about driver swaps. I just want to see the cars race for a longer time, one hour at least.

It would be great if even a quarter of the cars move over to Zhuhai International Circuit for the Circuit Hero 500 km race on 14-15 Dec weekend. That would give a much better indication of what the cars and drivers really can do.

The first step would be changing the pathetic name of the race. Secondly it would be promoting the race as Macau does. Winter is coming to a close. And as everyone knows, beach cities empty out in December. Leaving behind only the tourists and the dreamers, lamenting the imminent return to real life. Isn't it Asa?

LOL, can't help you there.

As for the entry list, very nice, though not expecting Mortara to give up ownership of the winner's trophy. I actually didn't know it was for only 12 laps, that's unfortunate.

I see a Nissan on the entry list, hope it will be streamed on their Youtube channel this year.

Him or Vanthoor. The rest is vying for third place.

What's the time difference between Macau and the US, 14 hours or so?

Any streaming available?

Morning, Asa. Hope you had a good night's sleep. Or at least a good night's play. Let's not get into this again. We put it behind us, we're leaving it there. Alright?

Mercedes-Benz China had a streaming last year. TDM Macau and NOW TV are broadcasting the event LIVE. Google will help us out on the links.

Darryl O'Young and his VLT Aston Martin at the mid-levels, Hong Kong.

He is hard at work preparing for the race.

Adderly Fong just received notifications that his entry has been accepted for the Macau GT race. He will race an Audi R8 LMS. Right now he is using simulation to prepare for the race.

I wonder what is Marco Wittmann doing there. He can't even match his teammate pace, let alone Mortara's.

The top 4 sure, but "things" happened down the field. Farfus got by Bamber and then when Tsuchiya tried the same, they had a moment together. Also have to mention, the blocking by the lapped GT Asia drivers was ridiculous.

Also, Darryl O'Young proved that you can overtake in Macau.

I thought the lapped cars tried almost too hard to get out of the way, thus sometimes being too slow for the 3rd or 4th leading car coming up in line, which seemed to be what happened to separate the top 4 from the Porsche and BMW.

Mortara is saying the Mercs jumped the start. It's possible (no replays during the race on the stream I was watching), but the SLS has always had the best traction/acceleration of any GT. Hope nothing comes of it, about time someone else enjoy success here.

Nice spectacle but poor race, however the level of competition was high and its hard to pass so not overly surprising.

Great race, glad to see one of these finally run green and with such a high level of competition it's no surprise that there were no passes in the top 4 but really enjoyed seeing such a high quality field at such a unique circuit.

Only slight pity would be that the coverage was entirely focused on the front 4 and we didn't see much of the race behind, but the broadcast was otherwise good.

Mercedes had one shot to get that right and it was executed spot on, well done to them.

I agree, the host broadcaster TDM missed a lot of the action behind the top 4.
